Job Description

As a Design Engineer, you will report to and assisting Design Manager.

Key Responsibilities

Roles / Job Description:

O&G, down hole tools design experience is preferred.

Degree in Mechanical / Manufacturing engineering with 3-5 years of relevant experience

Min 2-3 years of hands on experience with Solid Works or similar 3D package

Experience on Mathcad will be added advantage.

General well construction and well completion design knowledge

Proficiency with standard MS Office applications required

Working in Downhole Tool components (O&G) development projects under general supervision assist in analysis, modification and design of products and services for assigned projects which requires working knowledge of materials, components and their applications.

Responsible for independent design, modification & analysis of various products in Oil and Gas Downhole tools

Develops test procedures, conduct tests and completes test result analysis for assigned projects.

Assists in planning and conducting tests on materials, components, subassemblies, and tools. Acquires working knowledge of test procedures and techniques with new Standards.

Create / Modify / update the design as needed and process the engineering change request within defined time limits.

Produce Manufacturing drawing which includes complex machining and assembly of down hole tools and Perform drawing checks and sign off on work.

Oversee Product testing, hold design and test reviews and write reports.

PDM Data Management and coordination with global teams.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with internal team in Singapore liaise with customers / consultants on day to day basis
• Preparation of project documents including BQ
• Handling Design & Build projects
• Prepare optimised design solutions for projects
• Prepare Design drawings (Single Line Drawings & layout)
• Prepare design calculations incl voltage drop, short circuit current etc.
• Support multiple M&E projects concurrently
• Lead project meetings and work with team members to achieve the deliverables on-time
• Ensure drawings & documents are well maintained & stored in a timely manner
• Other adhoc duties as assigned

Requirement

• Diploma/Degree in Electrical Engineering
• Minimum 2 yrs of relevant hands-on M&E experience in construction industry, LTA projects, mixed development etc
• Need to be familiar with Singapore codes such as SS638 (CP5), SS650, SS555 etc
• Hands-on experience in AutoCAD drawings is preferred
• Familiarity in BIM (Revit / Navisworks) is advantageous
• Having consultancy experience is preferred
• Possess effective organizational and follow-up skills, meticulous
• Good communication skills
• Good interpersonal skills and able to interface with all levels, internally and externally, in a professional and responsive manner

Key Responsibilities

• Develop conceptual designs, technical sketches, 3D models, and physical prototypes for next-generation spray systems and digital control interfaces.

• Apply Design for Manufacturability (DfM) principles to optimize product designs, simplify assembly processes, reduce part complexity, and ensure compatibility with existing manufacturing systems.

• Develop, document, and standardize end-to-end manufacturing workflows to ensure consistent production quality and operational efficiency.

• Support the development and scaling of local manufacturing capabilities to meet regional production requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline such as Electromechanical or Systems Engineering from a recognized institution.

• 3–5 years of relevant experience in mechanical design and manufacturing, preferably in industrial equipment or machine-building environments.

• Proven experience in transitioning product designs from concept and prototyping to full-scale production workflows.

• Experience in leading technical projects or small teams, with strong cross-functional collaboration between engineering, sales, and production teams.

• Advanced proficiency in CAD/CAM tools such as Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks, or AutoCAD.

• Strong understanding of mechanical systems, fluid dynamics, and materials science related to spray technology applications.

• Hands-on experience with robotic systems, PLC programming, and sensor integration is an advantage.

• Familiarity with industrial standards such as CE compliance and quality management systems.

• Strong problem-solving skills to address complex technical challenges during prototyping and production phases.

• Good communication skills to translate technical requirements into actionable insights for sales and manufacturing teams, and to collaborate effectively with vendors.

• Ability to work independently as well as in a team-oriented environment.

• Resourceful, resilient, creative, and positive personality with strong interpersonal skills.
