The Role

As Manager, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing the entire commercial and operational architecture of our trading business across Southeast Asia. This role requires a seasoned leader who can manage multiple departments (Sales, Operations, Procurement) simultaneously, drive scalable growth, and mentor high-performing teams. You are expected to elevate processes from ad-hoc procedures into repeatable, profitable systems.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Sales & Market Expansion Leadership

• Develop and execute comprehensive market entry strategies for Singapore and surrounding regions (SEA), identifying new vertical opportunities within the construction, engineering, and electronics sectors.

• Lead the development of key client relationships at an executive level to secure major contracts and drive long-term project loyalty.

• Analyze sales data and market penetration metrics to forecast revenue growth, identify profitability gaps, and recommend strategic pricing models.

Operational Excellence & Risk Management (Process Ownership)

• Design, implement, and manage Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the end-to-end cross-border trade cycle, ensuring maximum efficiency and compliance across all jurisdictions.

• Oversee and mitigate operational risks associated with complex international logistics, including managing geopolitical shifts, supply chain disruptions, and sudden regulatory changes.

• Directly manage relationships with Tier 1 logistics partners, customs brokers, and legal counsel to ensure seamless, compliant trade flow.

Strategic Procurement & Vendor Management

• Develop long-term sourcing strategies and negotiate high-level master agreements with primary manufacturers and core commodity suppliers (e.g., M&E component manufacturers).

• Lead cost optimization initiatives by analyzing global market trends for key commodities, negotiating bulk pricing structures, and securing favorable credit terms.

• Establish robust quality control frameworks that ensure all sourced materials consistently meet technical specifications and project requirements.

Team Leadership & Mentorship (The Managerial Shift)

• Provide direct mentorship and guidance to the Executive/Specialist team members, fostering their growth in both sales acumen and operational compliance.

• Lead cross-functional meetings, aligning Sales objectives with Operational capabilities, ensuring that market promises are backed by viable supply chain processes.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Experience: 5–8 years of progressive experience in international trade, operations management, or complex commodity trading. Must include a minimum of 2-3 years in a direct supervisory or managerial role leading operational teams.

• Domain Knowledge: Deep understanding of the construction/ industrial supply chain and specific technical knowledge of M&E materials is highly desirable.

• Technical Knowledge: Expert working knowledge of global trade mechanisms, including Incoterms (all variations), advanced Letters of Credit (LC) structures, customs valuation procedures, and regional compliance frameworks.

• Language Proficiency: Mandatory professional fluency in Mandarin Chinese and English (written and spoken) for high-level negotiation with both suppliers and clients across SEA.

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, International Business, Engineering, or a related field.

Responsibilities:

•Manage procurement activities for capital equipment, spares, and services

•Execute Procure-to-Pay (P2P) processes including delivery tracking, budgeting, and invoice reconciliation

•Experience in supplier negotiation and cost analysis

•Familiar with ERP systems (SAP / Oracle)

•Strong analytical and stakeholder management skills

Job Summary:

The Manager is responsible for supervising and directing supply chain activities within the company and managing the planning, procurement of materials, logistics, and services involved in development and production including the planning for all materials and supplies to meet the operational needs of Quasar Medical Singapore. The successful candidate will be a values-driven, results focused leader capable of successfully managing a team and working with employees at all levels of the organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage the effectiveness of the material management operations against global KPI
• Develop and communicate material management policies, procedures, and internal controls
• Plan, organize, direct, manage and evaluate the material management activities, including production build plans driven through fully integrated ERP/MRP systems
• Production planning of customer orders, good management of internal work orders, ensuring achieve KPI OTD.
• Manage all elements of supply chain costs including ocean freight, handling and storage, costs of processing and distribution.
• Manage shipment and export from logistic perspective, make sure 0 error of customer FGs shipment and smooth Customs clearance.
• Monitor cost of sales with supply chain partners, with aim of reducing costs and gaining efficiencies in the supply chain, monitoring KPIs
• Ensure that all transactions are kept current, recorded accurately, and processed efficiently
• Regularly review and ensure accuracy of materials planning information in MRP system
• Manage relationships with manufacturing and storage and logistics partners in the supply chain, including organizing regular supply chain meetings
• Lead and coach the Supply Chain Team Members to ensure objectives and personal development plans are defined and agreed in line with company performance management procedures
• Knowledge source for MRP system driven processes
• Support the plant initiatives on environmental strategy, packaging technology, quality standards, disaster/business recovery planning procedures
• Responsible for Health & Safety within assigned areas to include accident investigation and corrective action
• Ensure good inventory management; work with Finance as agreed on periodic stock checks
• Maintain and comply with ISO13485, GMP and FDA regulations.
• Maintain good 5s, safety at warehouse.

Authority:

• Ensure environmental aspect and safety hazard risk assessments are identified, reviewed, carried out to remove or control the risks to their respective staff at the workplace.
• Approve department environmental aspect, Risk Assessment and Safe Work Procedure if the risk is within acceptable level.
• Provide and maintain a work environment which is safe and without risk to health for employees at work.
• Report immediately all occupational accidents & incidents to the company and relevant parties and support the EHS Committee Management Representative in conduct of incident/accident investigation as appropriate.
• Initiate and/or approve disposition actions for EHS nonconformance as well as corrective/preventive actions to prevent recurrences
• Ensure that environmental, health & safety policies are upheld, EHS objectives and metrics are monitored, corrective/ preventive actions taken on EHS system defects are effective and properly closed.
• Responsible for the safety, health and well-being of workers under their charge.
• Provide support in EHS internal and external audits.
• To enforce compliance to company’s EHS management system and relevant legal and other applicable EHS requirements.
• To delegate task/s to his/her subordinates.
• To stop any unsafe work or negligent act that may endanger personnel.

Education/Experience and Qualifications:

• Management or technical diploma degree, BS preferred, with 3-5yrs in a management or supervisory role in a high-volume production environment, preferably in Medical Device Manufacturing.

·       Experience in master scheduling, MRP/ERP driven processes

·       Working knowledge of MRP/ERP systems

·       Knowledge of Oracle and/or SAP an advantage

·       Familiar with LEAN and Six Sigma methodologies

• Computer literacy required.  Familiar with Microsoft office software.

·       Knowledgeable in writing procedures and GMP requirements

·       Knowledge of GMPs & GDP’s in ISO 9001, ISO13485 and the Medical Device Directives.

Job Responsibilities:

PURCHASING

• Prepare a monthly report for review by the Managing Director and Finance.
• SAP adjustments – stock repacking, non-sales inventory movements e.g. samples issued, damaged items, stocks over- or short-supplied. etc.
• Update SAP with inventory repacking.
• Assist in year-end stock take preparation and updating of stock count results.  This may extend beyond normal working hours and is reimbursed for the overtime with Off-In-Lieu.

Job Requirements:

• Possess minimum Diploma or equivalent qualification.
• Possess at least 2 years’ experience in Purchasing and Inventory
• Knowledge of SAP, Incoterms, MS Office, esp. Excel (Intermediate)
• Working experience in the food industry will be an advantage
