We are seeking a Full Stack / Data Engineer to design and build a high-performance data ingestion and API platform for automatic weather station data. The role will focus on cloud-based ingestion pipelines, time-series data storage, quality control logic, and APIs for high-frequency data insertion and retrieval. 

The ideal candidate has strong experience building scalable backend systems for real-time or near-real-time data, with the ability to work across ingestion architecture, data modelling, API design, and operational reliability. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Architect and implement high-throughput data ingestion pipelines for telemetry and sensor data. 

• Build backend services and APIs for data insertion, retrieval, configuration, and operational platform functions. 

• Design low-latency RESTful, gRPC, or equivalent APIs for high-frequency time-series workloads.

• Work with stakeholders to validate performance, stability, and reliability against agreed platform requirements. 

• Contribute to system documentation, deployment notes, API specifications, and operational handover materials. 

Required Skills and Experience 

• Strong backend engineering experience with high-throughput, cloud-based data platforms. 

• Experience designing and operating data ingestion pipelines for streaming, telemetry, sensor, IoT, or time-series data. 

• Proficiency in at least one modern backend language such as Python, Java, Go, Node.js, or similar. 

• Experience designing production-grade APIs, including REST, gRPC, or equivalent programmatic interfaces. 

• Familiarity with time-series databases, relational databases, data lakes, or scalable storage systems. 

• Understanding of performance tuning, data partitioning, batching, backpressure, observability, and reliability patterns. 

• Ability to work across data engineering, backend development, and platform integration concerns.

• Experience with cloud services, containerized deployments, CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, or managed streaming technologies.

Our client is a well established data centre and IT infrastructure company that focuses on providing carrier-neutral data centre services, network connectivity, managed services and related technology solutions.

They are looking for a motivated Senior Data Centre Engineer to support the day-to-day operations and maintenance of mission-critical data centre infrastructure. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliable operation, maintenance, and optimisation of data centre facilities. This role provides technical leadership in managing critical M&E infrastructure, supports service delivery excellence, and ensures compliance with safety, operational, and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

Data Centre Operations & Reliability

• Oversee day-to-day operations of critical infrastructure including power, cooling, fire suppression, and monitoring systems.
• Ensure high availability and resilience of all active and redundant systems.
• Lead response to alarms, incidents, and emergencies, performing root cause analysis and corrective actions.

Maintenance & Engineering

• Plan, supervise, and execute preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
• Review maintenance procedures and implement improvements to enhance system reliability and efficiency.
• Manage testing of backup systems (UPS, generators, switchgear, CRAC, etc.).

Technical Leadership

• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians.
• Act as escalation point for complex technical issues.
• Support audits, certifications, and compliance initiatives (e.g. ISO, SS 564, Uptime).

Customer & Stakeholder Support

• Coordinate customer installations, move-ins, turn-ons, and infrastructure changes.
• Ensure contracted SLAs and KPIs are met or exceeded.
• Liaise with internal teams, vendors, and customers to support operational requirements.

Projects & Change Management

• Support data centre projects, upgrades, and capacity expansion works.
• Review technical designs, method statements, and risk assessments.
• Oversee contractors and ensure works are carried out safely and in accordance with standards.

Safety, Compliance & Reporting

• Ensure strict adherence to workplace safety, SOPs, and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare incident reports, operational logs, and performance reports.
• Participate in shift coverage and on-call rotation as required.

Requirements

• Willing to work 24/7 rotating shifts
• Willing to work at both locations
• At least 4-5 years of relevant experience for a data centre

Work Locations: Bedok/Woodlands (Rotation of location will be required)

Working Hours

Morning Shift: 8.30am - 8.30pm

Night Shift: 8.30pm - 8.30am

(Shifts will rotate every 2 weeks)

Shift pattern: work 3 days rest 3 days, work 2 days rest 2 days

Job Responsibilities

• Respond to IT requests from all emails, portal, and telephone within the agreed targets.

• Perform troubleshooting and initial diagnostics of assigned IT tickets, including remote connection to end user devices using remote access tools.

• Communicate clearly to users in a timely and polite manner and keep the end user-informed of the progress of IT requests at all appropriate times.

• Manage creation, modification, and deletion of users account management (FTP, Active Directory, file permissions) and perform clean-up projects of user profiles, files, email accounts.

• Supporting application such as Microsoft Lync/Skype for Business, conferencing tools such as GoToMeeting, Microsoft Outlook and email archiving tools.

• Provide basic PC installations and configuration tasks.

Job Requirement

• 2-3 years working experience in a computer related support or and IT operational environment.

• One or more recognised industry certification in PC, Network and Server support (Comptia A+, Server +, Network +, MCP in Windows 7/8/10/11).

• Good written and communication skills in English.

• Good interpersonal skills, with a focus on listening and questioning skills.

• Good problem-solving abilities and ability to work under own initiative.

• Maintain adequate knowledge of operating systems and application software.

• Experience with configuring and supporting any version of Windows Desktop (7, 8,10,11).

• Experience with configuring and supporting Microsoft Office 2013/2016 and/or Office 365.

• Some basis experience with supporting physical networking is desirable but not essential.

• Singaporean or Singapore PR is preferred.
