Job Summary

The Software Engineer is responsible to develop software based on design requirements and ensure software and subroutines are working to specification. The role ensures program codes conform to standards and are delivered with quality, meeting schedule and requirements.

Responsibilities | CORE

- Analyse process and program specifications and translate into program codes

- Ensure conformance to programming guidelines and best practices

- Make changes to configurable items including hardware, software, and documentation

- Perform configuration management planning, identification, controls, and audits

- Develop unit test packages, execute tests, and document results to ensure quality

- Support integration testing, system testing, UAT, and implementation activities

- Fix reported problems or bugs to ensure smooth execution in production

- Investigate errors and initiate amendments and testing for correct and efficient system operation

- Prepare and maintain up-to-date system documentation

- Analyse functional requirements and translate into application design using established methodologies

- Ensure codes comply with security guidelines

Qualifications

Essential Qualifications

- Diploma or degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent

- 1–4 years of experience in developing and delivering application software;

- Relevant system development and maintenance experience using Java-related technologies

- Experience with Weblogic Server, Spring, Oracle Database, MyBatis and JSP has added advantage

- Strong problem-solving skills with ability to think creatively

- Proficient in written and spoken English

- Willingness to travel as required

• Strong fundamentals in Linux systems, networking, load balancing, and high-availability / disaster recovery design.
• Hands-on experience operating or supporting large-scale web services in production environments.

Our client is a leading e-commerce brand dealing with premium goods. They're rapidly expanding into Singapore and are seeking an experienced Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join their team. The new joiner will be responsible for ensuring the stability, availability, and efficiency of their core business systems. This is a high-impact role that sits at the intersection of engineering excellence and operational resilience, giving you direct ownership over service governance, incident management, and high-availability architecture. Key Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end stability of business-critical applications, including deployment, configuration management, status monitoring, and capacity management
• Lead the investigation and resolution of major production incidents, conduct thorough post-incident analysis, and drive follow-up optimisation initiatives
• Develop and execute fault drill exercises, maintain emergency response plans, and produce clear SOP documentation for operational procedures
• Drive high-availability improvements across applications, encompassing rate limiting, graceful degradation, fault tolerance, disaster recovery, and multi-active deployment strategies
• Establish and maintain SLO evaluation frameworks, quantify incident impact on service level objectives, and track improvement initiatives to completion
• Deeply analyse and optimise service governance across critical paths, including performance bottleneck identification, issue localisation, and high-availability architecture upgrades
• Develop and enforce operations and maintenance standards, and translate these into tooling and platform-based solutions to improve O&M efficiency and operational safety
• Support colleagues with day-to-day IT queries and resolve network issues within the Singapore office environment, including matters relating to cloud service provider connectivity

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of operations and maintenance experience in an internet or technology company environment, with strong expertise in system fault diagnosis and production incident resolution
• Proficiency in at least one scripting or programming language such as Python, Shell, Go, or Java; hands-on project development experience (is a bonus)
• Familiarity with common web middleware and message queue technologies as well as monitoring tools
• Working knowledge of open-source caching solutions including Memcache, Redis, and Twemproxy, along with JVM memory and GC mechanisms with the ability to diagnose Java process anomalies
• Experience with business capacity management, microservices architecture operations, and full-lifecycle stability governance from system design through to production go-live (is a bonus)
• Familiarity with the SRE operational framework and experience maintaining high-concurrency, high-availability distributed systems (is a bonus)
