The Role: What You Will Do
As a Travel Consultant at Ik Chin, you are the bridge between a traveler’s dream and their journey. You will drive growth by managing digital leads and prospecting new communities, while ensuring every tour is executed to perfection.
- Lead Management & Conversion: Promptly follow up on inquiries generated from digital advertising campaigns. You will guide these leads through the "discovery" phase, answering questions and converting interest into confirmed bookings.
- Strategic Lead Prospecting: Proactively identify and engage with niche communities to introduce our specialized pilgrimage tours.
- Consultative Planning: Build rapport with customers to understand their travel needs and curate customized, high-quality itineraries.
- End-to-End Management: Own the customer journey from the first inquiry to final execution, ensuring a seamless and stress-free experience.
- Global Coordination: Liaise with our network of global vendors and partners to secure the best arrangements for your clients.
- Tour Leading: Step out of the office to lead tour groups, ensuring the well-being of our travelers and bringing the itinerary to life.
- Expert Advice: Act as a travel subject matter expert, providing comprehensive advice on destinations, visa requirements, and cultural etiquette.
What We Are Looking For
- Communication: Strong verbal and written proficiency in English and Chinese to effectively engage with our regional partners and diverse clientele.
- Cultural Respect: A sincere respect for Buddhist traditions and temple etiquette is required. As a core part of our business involves Buddhist trips and charity trips,
- Passion for People: You thrive in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment and possess the empathy and professionalism needed to manage unique traveler expectations.
- Resilience: The ability to remain calm and detail-oriented under pressure, especially during peak travel seasons or when handling urgent travel emergencies.
- Independence: A self-motivated professional who can manage their own portfolio and leads independently while contributing to a cohesive team environment.
- Technical Savvy: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and travel-related digital tools (e.g., AI, Google Maps, online booking platforms).
- The Traveler’s Spirit: A genuine love for travel and a willingness to work on weekends or public holidays when leading tours is required.
- Experience: Prior experience in Tours & Travel, Customer Service, or client-facing roles is a significant advantage.
