Job Description
• Assist the occupier and person in-charge inidentifying, assessing and managing foreseeable risk arising from workplaceactivities and work processes.
• Recommend and implement reasonably practicablemeasures to eliminate risks; where risk elimination is not reasonablypracticable, recommend appropriate risk minimisation measures and develop safework procedures to control identified hazards.
• Ensure effective implementation, monitor andreview of risk control measures and safe work procedure at workplace.
• Work closely with HR team to identify safetytraining needs based on projects or factory requirements, including MOM, WSQand in-house safety training and proactively obtained management approval.
• Ensure adequate safety training programimplemented, communicated and cascaded to all personnel involved in projects/factory.
• Promote strong safety culture through regularsafety briefings, toolbox meetings, mass safety talks, training programmes, WSHpromotional and quarterly mass briefing conducted by senior management as wellas participation in WSH committee activities,
• Ensure full compliance with WSH legislation,environmental regulations, codes of practices, industrial best practices andall statutory requirement.
• Take appropriate action against unsafepractices and ongoing non-compliance by workers, supervisors, construction teamor subcontractors and escalate significant safety breaches to management.
• Conduct investigation of incidents, accidentsand near misses, identify in root cause analysis investigates, prepare reportsand recommend corrective actions and preventive actions (CAPA) to preventrecurrence.
• Administer and maintain an effectiveEnvironment, Health and Safety Management System (EHSMS) in accordance withprevailing legislation such as SS 679 and SS ISO 45001:2018, includingpreparation for third party audit.
• Providing information for internal audits andexternal audits in compliance with bizSAFE, ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and ISO 9001
• Attend and participate in WSH meeting withClients, Consultants and Main Contractors and cascade relevant information tosite teams.
• Prepare safety-related tender documentation,including Pre-Qualification Questionnaires (PQQ/PTQ), technical submissions andWSH presentations for tenders and interviews.
• Stay informed of the latest WSH regulations,standards and industry best practices and also provide guidance andrecommendations for incorporating new requirements into existing procedures.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date safetydocumentation, including incident reports, inspection findings, trainingrecords and compliance documentation.
Job Requirements
• Specialist Diploma in Workplace Safety andHealth (WSH) or a Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Health and EnvironmentalManagement or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5–8 years of relevant experience in WSHand fire safety management, with proven experience in compliance leadership,preferably in construction and interior fit-out environments.
• Strong knowledge of Singapore WSH legislation,including the WSH Act, its subsidiary regulations and Fire Safety Actrequirements.
• Experience in implementing and managing WSHmanagement systems and conducting risk assessments in accordance withregulatory guidelines.
• Proven leadership and team management skills,with the ability to drive a strong safety culture and influence stakeholders atall levels.
• Demonstrated experience in leadingcross-functional teams and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong communication, reporting and stakeholderengagement skills, including liaising with regulatory authorities and clients.
• Ability to conduct safety audits, inspectionsand training programmes effectively.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical anddecision-making skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Good knowledge of ISO standards, MOMregulations and WSH compliance frameworks.
