Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to;

• Understand and have good knowledge of the M&E systems within the asset and with the Building Manager, ensure that the systems are operated within the design efficiencies and smoothly.

• Understand and be familiar with Corporate’s requirements, policies, standards and procedures

• Review and identify any areas of improvement for asset operation for both soft services and M&E systems and ensure that the operation of the asset is optimal at all times

• Assist in overseeing the operation of soft services which includes management of service providers and tenants’ feedback in a fair manner

• Working closely with the team to understand the M&E Systems within the assets. Ensure that the systems are operated within design intent

• Reviews of LLR’s standard operation procedures and review asset existing operation process and house-rules to identify any gaps and areas for improvements

• Assist with preparation and reviewing of the annual operation expenses and forecasts

• Preparation of all necessary reports including budget, Annual Business Plan, Asset Review Reports etc.

To be a success in this role it is desirable, but not essential to have;

• GCE ‘N’/’O’ Levels/ Nitec and above  

• Minimum 2 years of working experience in similar function

• Experience in mixed- development (retail & office) operation is advantageous

• Must be prepared to perform shift duties and work on weekends and public holidays. Working hours is 40 hours/week

ABOUT THE ROLE

This role provides hands-on accounting support to the Finance Business Partner, ensuring that EQUAL’s day-to-day financial operations are accurate, timely, and well-organised. You will be responsible for executing core accounting processes — including accounts payable/receivable, reconciliations, and maintaining proper financial records — while supporting month-end closing and audit preparation. This is a foundational finance role designed for someone who is detail-oriented, dependable, and keen to build strong accounting fundamentals in a mission-driven organisation. You will gain exposure to charity accounting, fund tracking, and audit processes, while contributing to the smooth running of EQUAL’s finance function.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

• Transactions (AP/AR, journals) are processed accurately and on time 

• Bank reconciliations and schedules are kept up to date with minimal supervision 

• Month-end closing support is reliable, well-documented and timely 

• Financial records are organised and audit-ready

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

Day-to-Day Accounting Operations

• Process accounts payable (vendor invoices, staff claims) accurately and promptly 

• Support accounts receivable, including invoicing, receipts, and donation recording 

• Prepare and post journal entries with proper documentation 

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records in the system 

Month-End Closing Support

• Closing of monthly full set of accounts on a timely basis 

• Ensure all transactions are properly recorded and supported 

• Prepare supporting schedules for review by the Finance Business Partner 

Reconciliation & Records Management

• Perform bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies promptly 

• Maintain accounting schedules (e.g. payables, receivables, basic fund tracking) 

• Ensure all financial documents are properly filed and easily retrievable

Audit & Compliance Support

• Prepare supporting documents for audits and regulatory submissions 

• Ensure documentation is complete, organised, and audit-ready 

• Support basic tracking of restricted funds in line with donor requirements

Process & Systems Support

• Assist in preparing reports and data for budgeting and forecasting 

• Support the Finance Business Partner with data collation and variance tracking

Budget & Reporting Support

• Assist in preparing reports and data for budgeting and forecasting

Experience

• Diploma or Degree in Accountancy or related field
