Context

The DesCartes Programme, led by CNRS@CREATE in Singapore, brings together AI, engineering and human sciences to design trustworthy hybrid AI systems. In partnership with the National University Health System (NUHS), WP1 (Agent-Based Modelling) and WP6 (Ethics of Autonomy and Care in AI Decision-Making) are jointly developing an agent-based model (ABM) to support the redesign of selected NUH services. Grounding this model in empirically rich descriptions of care practices, patient trajectories and staff routines requires dedicated field-based human sciences work.

Mission

Working at the interface between WP1 and WP6, the Research Assistant will contribute to the design and implementation of human sciences methodology feeding into the ABM.Main tasks:

- Design and conduct field observations.

- Prepare and carry out semi-structured interviews with healthcare staff, patients and caregivers; transcribe and analyse the material (thematic/qualitative analysis).

- Translate qualitative findings into structured inputs for the ABM in close collaboration with the WP1 modelling team.

Its mission is to build and sustain a strategic clinical research network focussed on most efficiently delivering locally relevant interventions for drug-resistant infections.

It will stabilise capacityand capabilities to mitigate inefficiencies in trial start-up phase and loss of skillset following study closure, as in typical trial setup. In the long term, the Network aims to support broader infectious disease studies by expanding geographically beyond its original starting point in South East Asia and collaborating with other networks around the world. Join our team as a Finance Executive (or Assistant), where you'll play a key role in supporting day-to-day finance operations and assisting with both financial and administrative tasks. You'll work closely with our finance team to ensure smooth, accurate, and efficient processes that help drive the organisation forward.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

• Invoice Processing (Accounts Receivable (AR) / Accounts Payable (AP) )
  Process AP invoices (PO Invoices, Direct Invoices ) accurately and promptly in Synergix (ERP) and related platforms (e.g., RPA tools, InvoiceNow, and approval systems) to support timely month-end closing. Address processing issues to ensure smooth and efficient operations. The same applies if assigned on AR.

• Transaction Verification and Three-Way Matching (AR / AP)
  Perform three-way matching for AP transactions (Purchase Orders, Goods Received Notes, Delivery Orders, and supplier invoices) and apply relevant verification controls for AP, AR transactions (when assigned). Ensure completeness, accuracy, and proper documentation to support downstream processes such as payments and collections.

• Reconciliation and Schedule Preparation
  Perform reconciliations for vendor statements, customer accounts, and fixed assets (as assigned), ensuring accuracy and timely resolution of discrepancies. Prepare clear and audit-ready schedules and supporting documentation.

• Fixed Assets Management
  Manage the full lifecycle of fixed assets, including capitalization, depreciation, transfers, and disposals, in compliance with accounting standards and company policies. Maintain accurate asset registers, perform periodic verifications, reconcile with the general ledger, and support physical asset sighting exercises.

• Documentation, Audit, and Workflow Coordination
  Manage document workflows, including email sorting, indexing, archival, and circulation for approvals and system processing. Maintain complete and organized supporting documentation for finance transactions and audits, including filing, scanning, and retrieval.

• Finance Systems and ERP Support
  Support ERP and finance systems activities, including implementation, enhancements, data validation, and reporting. Coordinate vendor onboarding to InvoiceNow, including communication, follow-ups, and status tracking.

• Assist with Audit requirements and clarifications

• Other ad-hoc duties that may be assigned from time to time by the HOD/ CFO

• Assigned tasks may varies and subject to re-deployment by the HOD subject to work exigencies and corporate development

Other Requirements

Education: At least a diploma in Finance/Accountancy or equivalent.

Experience: Preferably 2-year experience in Accounts Payable and/or related function (such as Accounts Receivables, Assets management, Finance Robots and/or AI, InvoiceNow systems softwares)

Skills:

• Meticulous, Responsive to queries and have an eye for detail

• Proactive to resolve issues, well organised and possess good time management

• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

• Prior experience using Synergix or ERP will be advantageous

Main duties

·       Qualitative and quantitative analysis of investment opportunities in the energy transition domain across Southeast Asia

·       Construction and maintenance of detailed financial models and cash flow valuations for renewable energy projects

·       Support of due diligence work streams, transaction documentation and overall transaction execution for proposed investments  

·       Preparation of investment materials, internal memoranda and other transaction documents

·       In-depth research in respect of relevant geographies, technologies and business models

·       Contribute to business development and project development activities of the various projects under assessment

·       Review of portfolio performances, valuation of platforms and analysis of results for stakeholders

Assist with preparing marketing collaterals and investors’ due diligence processes for fundraising activities

Skills required

·       Strong academic credentials in business / economics / engineering and mastery of relevant corporate finance (valuation, budgeting, accounting etc.) concepts

·       2 - 5 years of experience in project development, banking, corporate finance, M&A, private equity or consulting; experience in the renewable energy and energy transition industry is a plus

·       Strong analytical and financial modelling skills with the ability to build complex financial models

·       Excellent communication skills in English, additional fluency in an Asian language is a plus

·       Highly structured, detail-oriented and motivated self-starter

Responsibilities:

• Provide and maintain high standard of service excellence to patients, caregivers, and colleagues.
• Preparation of clinic for daily operations prior to opening and facilitate proper handover at the end of each clinic session and at end closing time.
• Assist doctors and act as chaperones during in-clinic consultations and teleconsultations, providing translation support when necessary.
• Timely follow-up of administrative tasks after clinic sessions, including handling inquiries, educating patients on managing appointments and making payments online e.g., using HealthHub, and scheduling appointments promptly.
• Handle counter duties with precision for accurate registration and billing.
• Attend to patient enquiries through various platforms, e.g., face-to-face, phone, and emails.
• Provide financial counselling with knowledge of financial schemes available to patients.
• Ad-hoc duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Minimum GCE 'N' level.
• Service-oriented with a pleasant disposition.
• Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and effective teamwork.
• PC / computer literacy and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• 5-day work week (Monday to Friday) and staggered working hours (from 8am to 5.30pm; 8.30am to 6pm or 9am to 6.30pm).
