Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Regulatory & Product Safety Manager to lead global regulatory compliance, product safety, and stewardship activities across Home & Personal Care, Industrial Chemicals, and Pharmaceutical-related applications.
This role ensures regulatory readiness, market access, and risk mitigation, while working closely with R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Commercial teams.
Key Responsibilities
Regulatory Compliance & Strategy
- Ensure compliance with global chemical regulations (e.g. REACH, TSCA, China MEE, K-REACH, UK-REACH, CEPA, AICIS)
- Lead regulatory submissions, registrations, notifications, and dossier preparation
- Monitor regulatory developments and assess impact on products and market access
- Develop and implement regulatory strategies to support new product launches
Product Safety & Risk Assessment
- Prepare and review Safety Data Sheets (SDS), exposure scenarios, and GHS/CLP labelling
- Conduct toxicological and ecotoxicological assessments using OECD guidelines
- Ensure compliance with consumer and industrial safety standards (EU Cosmetics, US CFR, ASEAN Cosmetics, IFRA, etc.)
Product Stewardship & Lifecycle Management
- Drive product stewardship programmes from R&D to end-of-life
- Support sustainability initiatives (safer chemistry, biodegradability, VOC reduction)
- Evaluate regulatory impact during formulation changes and raw material substitutions
- Maintain awareness of restricted and prohibited substances
Cross-Functional & External Engagement
- Advise R&D on regulatory feasibility during formulation development
- Support Sales and Marketing with regulatory documentation and product claims
- Work with Manufacturing and Supply Chain on site compliance and transport regulations
- Liaise with regulators, consultants, auditors, and industry associations
Systems, Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain regulatory databases, SDS libraries, and compliance records
- Oversee SDS and labelling systems (e.g. SAP EHS, Sphera, Chemwatch)
- Support customer audits, regulatory training, and internal compliance reviews
Job Requirements
Qualifications
- Master’s or Doctorate in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Toxicology, Regulatory Affairs, or Environmental Science
Experience
- Minimum 8years of experience in regulatory affairs, product safety, or product stewardship
- Proven experience in HPC, industrial chemicals, or pharmaceutical-related products
- Strong knowledge of international chemical regulations and product registrations
- Experience in toxicology and ecotoxicology assessments
Skills & Competencies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
- Proficient in SDS authoring tools, regulatory databases, and ERP systems
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a global environment
