As a Technology Strategist in the CTO Office at Cloud and Data Centre Solutions (CDCS), you will report directly to the CTO, CDCS to play a strategic and cross-functional role in shaping the future of cloud capabilities within the business unit. You will be responsible for identifying, evaluating, and driving the adoption of cutting-edge technologies that align with CDCS’s vision of becoming a cloud and AI powerhouse.

Research and Development

• Continuously scan the market for bleeding-edge cloud technologies.
• Engage and stay up to date with key technology partners (e.g., AWS, Google, Oracle, Microsoft, Elastic, RedHat) on developments in their technology stack.
• Collaborate with professional services, presales, and managed services teams to assess the applicability of new technologies across CDCS.
• Shortlist and recommend technologies to develop into Proof of Concepts (POCs).
• Lead POC and R&D projects to completion, evaluating their adoption within business units.
• Drive the adoption of viable technologies across CDCS and its customer base.

Change Management and Capabilities Development

• Be the change agent driving the digital transformation of CDCS into an AI and cloud powerhouse.
• Develop, track and plan the overall capabilities development of CDCS, aligning with long-term strategic goals.
• Document staff capabilities, including tracking certifications and competencies across various cloud technologies to ensure alignment with organizational goals and partner requirements.
• Leverage partner programs for training, certifications, and rebates to enhance team competencies.
• Plan and manage resource allocation, including considerations for outsourcing and partner collaboration.

Stakeholder Communication and Reporting

• Prepare strategic presentations and reports for senior management, highlighting progress, partnerships, financial plans, and technology direction.
• Track and report on cost savings, training progress, and certification achievements.

Qualities We Value

• Minimum 2 years of experience in cloud technology (AWS, Azure, GCP, Oracle, GCC).
• Experience working in the corporate arm of an organisation, with the ability to work with senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a proactive and analytical mindset.
• Experience in evaluating and implementing emerging technologies, managing vendor relationships, and driving change management initiatives.
• Familiarity with AI, data platforms, digital transformation, enterprise architecture, cloud governance, and innovation management.
• Certifications in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) are advantageous.

General Manager (M&E Department)

• Working Days: 5 Days A Week (Monday – Friday), 8.30am to 5.30pm

• Office at City Hall

• Salary: $12,000 to $15,000

• Reputable Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Bachelor’s Degree

• Proven capability to:

a. Undertake leadership role in a M&E Consultant, Main Contractor or Specialist Company

b. Develop services design in a design-and-built contract

c. Call and critically assess M&E tender quotations.

d. Execute effective cost control of M&E works.

• Completed full project cycles of:

a. Data Centres and;

b. Private Residential projects or

c. Hospitality projects

• Conversant in BIM for purposes of design and estimation

• Green certification – e.g. BCA Green Mark Manager / LEED Professional

• Develop / guide staff to develop in-house clear breakdown of contract costs for in-tender assessment and post-award contract administration.

• Track record of main equipment procurement experience.

Job scopes

• Leadership to the M&E Team, both in Head Office and on Site, in compliance with Company Policies, for the professional and dutiful execution of their respective roles.

a. Corporate Targets

• Plan and deliver in association with other departments the yearly and midterm award, sales and profit targets set by Corporate Head Quarters.

b. Human Resources

• Develop career trajectories and competency training of all M&E staff.

• Set KPIs and monitor performance of all M&E staff.

c. Design and Tender

• Ensuring the optimal design, including specifications and drawings, to develop a common basis for the quotation of each service in each tender.

• Develop and maintain a good pool of subcontractors to support the Company in Tender and Works.

• Obtain and assess critically competitive quotations in compliance with Company governance.

• Develop Value Engineering during tender and through works execution to improve on profit margins of the project.

d. Works

• Develop and monitor execution and cost control plans for projects.

• Ensure M&E works quality and timeliness within working budget.

• Develop and maintain a Corporate QA/QC plan for in-process and post completion maintenance works to improve on current and future project quality.

e. Others

• Subcontractors and Suppliers resources pool – develop and maintain excellent relationships to ensure that the Company has adequate support from these stakeholders.
