Responsibilities:

• Develop HVAC design basis and philosophies for accommodation, machinery spaces, control rooms, E‑rooms/E‑houses, galleys, battery rooms, and hazardous areas.
• Perform heat load/psychrometric calculations, ventilation and pressurization design, duct/chilled water/sea water, and smoke management strategies.
• Select and specify equipment (chillers, AHUs, FCUs, DX units, fans, heat exchangers, filters, VFDs) with materials suited to marine environments (e.g., CuNi, 316L).
• Define control strategies and sequences (BMS/PLC/DCS), I/O lists, and integration with Fire & Gas cause‑and‑effect.
• Produce and review deliverables: datasheets, specs, HVAC diagrams/P&IDs, MTO, layouts, penetration details, installation standards, TBEs, and vendor document reviews.
• Lead Class/Flag submissions and close comments with ABS/DNV/LR/BV and relevant authorities; ensure compliance with SOLAS/IMO, MLC, ISO 15138, IECEx/ATEX, and client/yard standards.
• Coordinate interfaces with Hull, E&I, Piping, Structural, Safety; lead 3D model

reviews and clash resolution.

• Support yard/site: RFIs/TQs, inspections, FAT/SAT, commissioning, testing & balancing, and as‑built documentation.
• Mentor junior engineers/designers; contribute to HAZID/ENVID and support HAZOP where HVAC interfaces with process/safety.

Requirements: 

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field. Specialized courses in fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, and heat transfer are highly beneficial. 

• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in mechanical engineering, preferably in the marine, offshore or renewable energy sectors. 

• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD), MagiCAD, Carrier HAP (Hourly Analysis Program), Trane TRACE 700 and knowledge of Building Management Systems. 

• Strong problem-solving abilities and experience with data analysis and interpretation. 

• Ability to convey complex technical information clearly to nontechnical stakeholders.
