Step into a role at the heart of NORDEN’s commercial operations, where daily interaction, coordination and collaboration are key to keeping trades moving smoothly.
As a Commercial Assistant, you will work closely with clients, brokers and internal teams, supporting the day‑to‑day commercial activities across trades. If you are motivated by frequent collaboration, a varied agenda and the opportunity to contribute to real‑time decisions where time‑sensitive choices are common, this role offers both exposure and development.
The position is based at NORDEN’s office in Singapore, located in Suntec City.
Welcome to the team
In an industry where timing, coordination and accuracy matter, your work will consist of day‑to‑day responsibilities and be highly relevant, giving you insights into commercial shipping while allowing you to grow alongside experienced colleagues.
You will join a Chartering team that reflects NORDEN’s core values, where data plays an important role in daily decision-making. Working together and sharing knowledge across teams and sites will help you develop a reliable foundation for improving commercial judgment and moving forward in your career.
Reporting to the Chartering Lead, Panamax East, you will work closely with colleagues in Singapore and across the organisation, gaining exposure to global trades while being supported in your professional development.
The task that awaits you
Here, no two days are the same — and your ability to stay structured, responsive and commercially aware will play a visible role in supporting operations and building collaborative working relationships.
Your primary stakeholders will be internal commercial teams as well as external partners, and you will be part of an internationally connected organisation where cooperation across offices is key to moving work forward.
In the role as Commercial Assistant, you can expect to:
- Assist and support NORDEN’s Chartering team in nomination of vessels to cargo clients.
- Be in close contact with ship brokers, ship owners and with the safety platform RightShip to ensure the vessel is considered acceptable for the given voyage.
- Ensure swift and satisfactory response to cargo clients' requests for technical details during the process of vessel nomination including vessel questionnaires, stowage plans, certificates and vessel itinerary.
- Maintain system efficiency with constant update of cargo laycans, nomination dates, demurrage rates and certificates.

You might be the future Commercial Assistant if you thrive in an everyday where you can have authority over own tasks while you also like to engage with your colleagues in a collaborative way.
