Project Introduction:

The introduction of Artificial Intelligence (AI) into education has potentially ushered in an era of new possibilities for reimagining learning, teaching, and assessment practices. The current developments in machine learning, data analytics, natural language processing, and other adaptive technologies promise to provide students with personalised learning pathways and automated feedback, while supporting teachers to adopt a more discursive teaching stance (Pepin et al., 2025). For instance, ChatGPT and other AI-enabled technologies have been used to support teachers in planning mathematics lessons (Gurl et al., 2024), developing mathematics tasks (Schorcht et al., 2024), and designing learning environments for mathematical problem solving (Liu et al., 2025). These perceived affordances of AI have catalysed interests in developing more responsive and differentiated mathematics instruction through a data-driven approach.

However, it remains unclear how teachers can fully harness the affordances of these AI-enabled technologies, given their limitations in reliability (e.g., hallucinations) and adaptability for use with diverse student groups (Celik et al., 2022; Schorcht et al., 2024). Furthermore, as highlighted by Sinha (2025), what constitutes good AI use in education depends on teachers’ perspectives of learning—do they see learning from an instructivist, constructivist, or embodied perspective? These differing perspectives can influence how teachers think about mathematics task design (Schorcht et al., 2024). More importantly, how AI-generated tasks or AI educational tools are used in classrooms adds to the complexities and nuances of orchestrating learning experiences for students. It is not simply about the design of the task, but also how the task is used in the actual instruction (Smith & Stein, 1998).

Therefore, the main aim of this project is to investigate how two expert teachers think as they orchestrate AL-enabled learning experiences in mathematics classrooms, from planning to implementation.

COLDROOM ASSISTANT (FULFILMENT & OPERATIONS)

ABOUT THE ROLE

Toko Warisan is strengthening our backend operations to support our growing retail and e-commerce channels across Singapore. We are looking for a Coldroom Assistant (Fulfilment & Operations) to be based at our coldroom/warehouse facility.

This role focuses on handling frozen inventory, preparing online orders, and fulfilling outlet stock requirements, ensuring all orders are processed accurately, efficiently, and in a timely manner.

This is a hands-on and structured role, ideal for individuals who are comfortable working in a coldroom environment and take pride in maintaining smooth operational flow.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Coldroom & Fulfilment Operations

•Picking, packing, and preparing online (e-commerce) orders accurately and on time

•Fulfilling and preparing outlet replenishment orders for scheduled deliveries

•Ensuring all items picked match order requirements (quantity, product type, condition)

•Packing goods securely to maintain product quality, especially frozen items

Inventory & Stock Handling

•Receiving incoming goods, conducting physical checks, and verifying quantities

•Organising and storing inventory according to FIFO (First-In-First-Out) practices

•Performing stock replenishment, expiry checks, and basic stock-taking

•Reporting discrepancies, damages, or low stock to the supervisor

Coldroom Management

•Maintaining cleanliness, hygiene, and organisation within the coldroom

•Ensuring proper handling of frozen products to maintain quality and compliance

•Following safety procedures when working in cold storage conditions

Online Operations Support

•Ensuring all online orders are processed within the required timeline

•Coordinating with the e-commerce team on order status, shortages, or issues

•Supporting smooth daily operations for order fulfilment and dispatch readiness

General Duties

•Supporting overall warehouse/coldroom operations when required

•Assisting team members to ensure daily fulfilment targets are met

•Any other duties assigned by the Operations or Warehouse Supervisor

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

•Physically fit and able to lift up to 15kg

•Comfortable working in a coldroom/freezer environment

REQUIREMENTS

•Must have 6 years of experience in warehouse, logistics, or fulfilment operations preferred

•Experience in e-commerce order fulfilment is an advantage

•Secondary education and above

•Basic understanding of inventory handling (FIFO, stock control)

GOOD TO HAVE

•Experience handling frozen or cold storage products

•Familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) or basic MS Office

•Prior experience in retail fulfilment or grocery operations

Work Timing
• Mondays to Thursdays: 7:30am to 4:30pm, inclusive of 30min lunch break

• Fridays: 7:30am to 4:00pm, inclusive of 30min lunch break

Roles & Responsibilities

a. Management of Resources

Conduct regular inventory management in the Science Laboratories, including stock-taking, replenishment, repairs, and replacement of equipment.

Assist the Head of Department (Science) in liaising with vendors on procurement matters related to laboratory inventory.

Ensure all resources in the Science Laboratories are well-organised and clearly labelled.

Support teachers in facilitating student discussions during laboratory sessions.

Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of the Science Laboratories.

b. Preparation of Resources

Coordinate and manage loan requests from teachers for laboratory resources.

Prepare and set up laboratory materials in accordance with the scheme of work and teachers’ specifications.

Handle printing and photocopying tasks in the Printing Room.

Prepare teaching aids, including cutting and laminating materials, for use in the Science Laboratories.

Administrative Duties

Provide support for ad-hoc administrative tasks and assist in the preparation of resources as required by the school and/or department.

• Be responsible to support daily operations in warehouse by ensuring adequate manpower to perform warehouse duties;

• Work with warehouse manager or management appointed staff on daily operation requirement and ensure items are well prepared before logistic arrangement;

• To ensure all inventory transactions are completed within the timelines and maintain stock accuracy;

• Plan and coordinate with Ops team to ensure timely delivery;
