POSITION DESCRIPTION: 

The Internal Controller will be responsible for ensuring a strong internal control environment through the development of policies and procedures and will be involved in projects of varying complexity and scope on all aspects of the organization including financial, regulatory and operational. 

ROLES and RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Lead and participate in internal control projects driven by regional and corporate, and coordinate with entities to promote project execution on schedule, such as Balance Sheet Review, SOD Review, Fraud Detection controls etc. 

• Perform routine monitoring reviews on identified process controls such as bank reconciliations, payment controls 

• Assist to implement and monitor execution of policies and procedures to improve internal controls, compliance, and efficiency. 

• Provide practicable advice to different stakeholders to facilitate their work. 

• Closely follow up on action plan remediations arising from internal/external audits and IC reviews, work collaboratively with business and process owners to implement and monitor remediation efforts that result from internal control assessments, ensuring the effective implementation of corrective action. 

• Develop and conduct adequate training and prepare related information material on internal control objectives, approach and methodology to business partners to build knowledge and understanding of risks and control. 

• Support special projects as and when launched. 

• Focus Area : SEA, Korea, Japan and ANZ with exposure to other APAC countries

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s degree holder in Finance, Accounting, Business or related disciplines, with recognized professional accounting qualification, i.e. CPA, CIA 

• Solid understanding and experience with internal control frameworks 

• Minimum 5 years of well-developed experience in internal control with exposure to APAC region 

• Good knowledge of local and international accounting rules and policies 

• Big 4 audit firm and experience with banking controls is preferable. 

• Proficiency in both written and verbal English

Job Purpose

We are looking for a Private Credit Intern who will support the Private Credit team in identifying, analysing, structuring and monitoring private credit investments. This is a hands-on role offering exposure to deal origination, execution and syndication, including due diligence, financial modelling, portfolio monitoring, and risk assessment. The intern will gain experience across the three private credit strategies within an institutional investment framework.

Job Responsibilities

(A) Investment Research and Deal Screening

• Assist in researching potential private credit opportunities, including performing credit, structured credit, asset-backed lending, dislocated credit, sponsor-finance/event-driven, unlisted high-yield bonds, special situations, secondaries, venture & growth debt, supply chain credit, etc.
• Support monitoring credit market trends, economic indicators, and sector developments.
• Assist in drafting preliminary investment memoranda and credit analyses under supervision.

(B) Due Diligence Support

• Support the review of financial statements and key performance indicators for credit assessments.
• Assist in evaluating credit risks such as leverage, liquidity, collateral, and cash flow stability.
• Coordinate with relevant stakeholders to support legal, operational, and commercial due diligence activities.

(C) Financial Modelling and Valuation

• Assist in maintaining and updating financial models under the guidance of senior team members.
• Support sensitivity and scenario analysis on key credit variables.
• Provide assistance in evaluating pricing, structuring, and terms for potential investments.

(D) Risk Assessment and Portfolio Monitoring

• Assist in assessing borrower creditworthiness and updating internal risk ratings.
• Support monitoring of portfolio performance, covenant compliance, and borrower behaviour.
• Help identify and escalate potential credit concerns under supervision.

(E) Documentation and Transaction Support

• Assist in preparing and reviewing transaction documentation, including loan agreements and security arrangements.
• Support coordination with legal, compliance, and external counterparties as required.

(F) Reporting and Presentation Preparation

• Assist in preparing internal reports, presentations, and dashboards on deal pipelines, portfolio performance, and risk metrics.
• Provide support during investment committee meetings and other stakeholder discussions.

(G) General Research and Administrative Support

• Conduct basic macroeconomic and sectoral research relevant to private credit strategies.
• Provide ad hoc analytical or administrative support to the Private Credit team as assigned.

Qualifications and Competencies

• Undergraduate student from Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related discipline.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with familiarity in financial statement analysis and credit metrics.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; basic exposure to financial modelling or valuation is advantageous.
• High attention to detail, accuracy, and a willingness to learn.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proactive, reliable, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
• A foundational understanding of credit markets, debt instruments, and financial regulations is preferred.
• Candidates with relevant internship experience preferred.

Internship Duration

• Preferably someone who can commit to at least 6 months starting June 2026.
