The Quality System / QC Engineer is responsible for maintaining and improving the Quality Management System (QMS) and ensuring Product Quality through inspection, testing, and continuous improvement activities. The role ensures compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards, customer requirements, and regulatory guidelines while supporting operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

1. Quality Management System (QMS)

• Maintain and improve the Quality Management System in accordance with ISO 9001 / IATF 16949 / ISO 13485 (as applicable).

• Create and update Work Instructions, Procedures, Process Flow charts, Control Plans, and FMEA documents.

• Control and manage all QMS documents, including customer drawings, specifications, and procedures.

• Coordinate and conduct internal audits for ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001.

• Support customer audits and certification audits.

2. Quality Control (QC) Operations

• Supervise and manage QC Inspectors in their daily activities on the production floor.

• Establish and monitor incoming, in-process, and final inspection activities on the production floor.

• Review incoming, in-process, and final inspection reports, ensuring proper documentation and record retention in the system.

• Track and monitor in-coming and final outgoing product yield

• Manage non-conforming materials and disposition activities.

• Establish Statistical Process Control (SPC) and monitor process capability (Cp, Cpk).

• Analyze process data to identify trends, variations, and improvement opportunities.

• Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions report for process-related quality issues or customer complaints.

• Support new process introduction (NPI)

• Provide guidelines and training to QC Operators

Job Requirements:

• Candidate must possess Specialist Diploma in Workplace Safety & Health, Risk Management Level 2 and First Aid certified.

• Bachelor’s degree in relevant Engineering discipline (Civil, Structural, Mechanical & Engineering, or related field).
• Minimum 3 years in engineering or technical roles within construction projects, preferably with site experience.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• Project Cost. Leads cost estimation, monitoring, and analysis throughout the project, identifying savings, managing risks, optimizing resources, and suggesting budget adjustments for cost control and profitability.
• Project Management. Coordinate project teams, allocate resources, monitor project progress to ensure adherence to quality standards and project requirements, resolves project issues, manage risks, and communicate project status to stakeholders.
• Quality Control Management. Oversee the implementation of quality management systems and frameworks and identifies areas for quality improvement and drives continuous quality enhancement efforts.
• Resource Planning. Develops resource plans and strategies to optimize productivity and efficiency and to ensure project timelines and contractual obligation are met.
• Workplace Safety and Health Framework Development and Implementation. Manages the implementation of Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) frameworks by ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards. Conducts regular safety audits and inspections and coordinates with relevant authorities and safety committees to address safety concerns effectively.

Qualification:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field.
• Minimum 5-10 years in construction, with significant experience managing large-scale projects.
• Certifications: CSCPM, or equivalent project management certification is an advantage.
• Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and processes.

Job Description:

• Coordinate the design documentation process to ensure drawings and specifications are prepared, reviewed, and submitted in accordance with project schedules.
• Liaise with consultants, subcontractors, and internal departments to gather information, clarify design intent, and resolve technical discrepancies.
• Track design submissions, approvals, and revisions using registers and logs, ensuring version control and document traceability.
• Compile and organize drawings, specifications, and related documents for authority submission, tender, construction, and as-built purposes.
• Review drawings for completeness, consistency, and compliance with project requirements, flagging issues for the Design Manager’s attention.
• Coordinate responses to RFIs, design clarifications, and site queries to ensure timely resolution of technical matters during construction.
• Facilitate and document design coordination meetings by preparing agendas, taking minutes, and following up on action items.
• Ensure proper filing and documentation of all design materials in both electronic and hardcopy formats for easy access and reference.
• Follow up with external parties (e.g. consultants, authorities) on pending design issues, submissions, and approvals.
• Monitor the design program and highlight any delays or risks to the Design Manager for corrective action.
• Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and authority requirements in all design submissions and drawings.
• Coordinate internally with drafting teams to implement design changes, align drawings, and ensure drawing accuracy.
• Participate in value engineering and design review exercises by consolidating information and preparing comparison documentation.
• Communicate design updates to relevant project stakeholders, ensuring alignment between site works and design intent.
• Carry out any other design coordination duties assigned by the superior to ensure successful project outcomes.

Job Requirement:

• Diploma in Architectural/M&E discipline or equivalent
• Minimum 3 years of experiences in relevant industy
• Prior ID experience in construction/fit-out/building industry
• Proficient in AutoCAD
• Ability to visualize instructions.

· Assists Project Manager in the co-ordination of project management activities to ensure that projects are executed in a smooth and effective manner;

· Attends external project kick-off meetings, meetings with consultants as well as technical and co-ordination meetings, daily project meetings and internal project closure meeting;

· Assists Project Manager in carrying out all shop drawings and submission with Drafting Department;

· Assists Project Manager in carrying out risk assessment and other risk management activities; makes recommendations on risk control measures; communicating risk assessment to all workers;

· Ensures all contractors are safety inducted and issued with Permit before work commencement;

· Ensures the adherence to the safe work procedure (SWP) established; to inform project manager or project director of any shortcoming in the SWP or risk control measures implemented;

· Ensures the familiarization with the scope of works;

· Resolves site problems proactively in a timely manner and seeks advice from Project Manager as appropriate;

· Ensures the timely preparation of project progress and other reports;

· Follows up on all aspects of QA/QC matters; records all defects works and ensure proper documentation;

· Co-ordinates daily activities of workers’ duties and to ensure that they are performed in a proper manner;

· Makes daily checks on work progress, housekeeping and safety implementation on site with safety personnel;

· Assists in cost control by cutting materials wastage, reducing labour cost, usage of tools and equipment, etc;

· Assists the Project Manager in conducting Mass Tool Box meeting with safety personnel;

· Orders materials required for projects;

· Takes photographs on project progress and damage;

· Ensures proper project documentation including email communication;

· Issues work checklists for site supervisor;

· Initials and controls all delivery orders;

· Assists in promoting good team morale and team spirit in the project team;

· Any other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

Job Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience in the builidng construction industry
• Diploma in Engineering / Environmental/Health/Safety) or equivalent will be prefered
• Possess good knowledge of safety regulations and procedures
• Have good communication skills , ability to work independently and also effectively work in a team to achieve safety goals
• Possess a valid registration with MOM as Workplace Safety and Health Officer (WSHO)
