Senior Automation Engineer (High-Impact / Mission-Critical Systems)

Tyco Electronics Singapore Pte Ltd (TE Connectivity) is looking for an R&D Scientist/Engineer to join our Corporate R&D Center. The Scientist/Engineer will be part of a newly formed Artificial Intelligence team to create an AI Hub for TE in Singapore. Team members will collaborate with R&D peers, business unit partners as well as local university and government research centers to undertake projects that will embed AI in TE’s design and process development work flows to deliver a competitive advantage to TE’s technologies. Duties & Responsibilities:

• Run multiple projects in developing data science solutions to support new product development in TE
• Adopt cutting-edge data science techniques (using in-house coding tools or commercial software) to solve engineering problems (such as product design, manufacturing process development, material formulation, etc.)
• Develop multiple algorithms powered by machine learning and generative AI to work on experimental and simulation data sets
• Work in a multi-disciplinary environment with specialists in data science, mechanical engineering, material science, mechanics, additive manufacturing and other fields

Qualifications:

Required:

• Master degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related) with 3-4 years (or Bachelor degree with 4-6 years) plus relevant working/research experience
• Keen interest in R&D involving coding and data
• Deep understanding of data science and artificial intelligence (having a second degree on data science is a plus)
• Broad understanding of multiphysics simulation (such as finite element analysis) along with experience in CAD (such as generative design)

• Assist the Architect/ Designer in carrying out supervision works on site and assist in supervising & coordination with other consultants' site staff.
• Assist in reviewing the Contractor’s method statements and ensure works proceed according to these approved procedures.
• Maintain and submit detailed daily site records, including work progress, site instructions, material deliveries, manpower counts, weather conditions, visitor logs, and any other significant information.
• Attend site coordination meetings as directed to manage day-to-day operational issues.
• Familiarize with project nuances to facilitate the resolution of post-construction defects and address user feedback during the handover phase.
• Prepare comprehensive defect snagging lists, monitor the progress of rectification works, and verify that all defects are satisfactorily resolved
• Ensure all contractor activities and installations comply with prevailing statutory requirements and local building codes.

Requirements

• A minimum of 8 years of site supervision experience across a diverse range of developments.
• Valid accreditation with the IES (Institute of Engineers Singapore) is highly advantageous.
• Track record in supervising Additions & Alterations (A&A) works within institutional buildings, including the oversight of demolition and new structural construction.
• Prior experience in managing Architectural and Interior Design (ID) fit-out works.
• Must be able to perform night work and oversee site activities outside of standard operating hours.

Expected Working Hours:

• Monday to Friday: 2:00 pm to 10:00 pm (inclusive of 1-hour break)

• Saturday: 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM

Process Associate Scientist I – Viral Clearance

Your role:
As Process Associate Scientist I – Viral Clearance (VC) you will be part of the Contract Testing Services team that designs and delivers Viral Clearance validation studies for biopharmaceutical companies across the APAC region. In this role you will perform a variety of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) / Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) operations and conduct client processes for Viral Clearance studies. You will maintain the process laboratories and equipment in the validated state and conduct client studies with appropriate regulatory compliance under the oversight of the Study Director, independently performing Virus Reduction Filtration (VRF) and execute chromatographic process under supervision of more senior process associate scientists. As part of your daily responsibilities, you may support investigations of events and improvement projects. The Process Associate Scientist I will work closely with the rest of process team, study management, Lab Study Coordinating (LSC) team and end-point testing team to execute client studies on time and right first time.

The post holder will be able to perform the following functions.

Brief role description:

• Works within the Viral Clearance laboratories following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and relevant compliance regulations.
• May prepare high quality VRF (nanofiltration) workbooks.
• Independently performs client scale-down virus nanofiltration operations, and work closely with VRF vendor to ensure VRF process is completed according to schedule.
• Execution of client’s scale-down chromatographic processes under supervision of more senior process associate scientists.
• Works closely together with study management team, lab study coordinating (LSC) team, end-point testing team, Quality and project managers to ensure client studies are completed on time, to the appropriate scientific and regulatory standards.
• Accurately and promptly records data to meet appropriate scientific and GLP/GMP regulatory standards.
• May support in investigations of study deviations/laboratory events as required.
• Housekeeping of labs: performs weekly/monthly cleanings/inventory/housekeeping. Ensure that consumables needed in the client labs are available throughout the week (when studies are on-going).
• To support Point Of Contact (POC) of each client lab in all activities that pertain to general daily housekeeping & maintenance of the labs.
• Ensures equipment in labs are maintained in the validated state with timely implementation of periodic maintenance and calibration.
• Ensures a safe and healthy work environment at all times by not only complying with but actively embracing health and safety policies and procedures, ensuring the safety of yourself and others within the workplace.
• May support in writing/revising Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and workbooks.
• Supports lab projects impacting routine operations.

BioReliance (Process Solution Services)

• May need to support other VC teams in carrying out various lab activities which can include Spiking, Collection, Reads and Computing etc.
