Overall Responsibilities

We are looking for a Project Officer to support research on the development of lightweight thermal management solutions enabled by additive manufacturing. The position focuses on the formulation and optimization of magnesium-based alloys and composite materials with enhanced thermal conductivity for additive manufacturing of advanced thermal management components. The candidate will be involved in powder feedstock development, material characterization, additive manufacturing process optimization, and the evaluation of mechanical, thermal, and microstructural properties of the developed materials.

In addition, the candidate will contribute to the development of surface microengineering strategies for additively manufactured magnesium alloys to enhance heat dissipation performance. This includes the design and implementation of chemical, electrochemical, and micro/nanostructuring approaches to tailor surface wettability and interfacial heat transfer characteristics. The candidate will also support the design, fabrication, and experimental evaluation of lightweight cold plates and other thermal management devices using advanced manufacturing technologies. The outcomes of this work will support a research project led by the Principal Investigator aimed at developing next-generation lightweight thermal management solutions for electronic, energy, and defense applications. The project will deliver impactful innovations that address industry needs while strengthening the University's research excellence in additive manufacturing, advanced materials, and thermal engineering.

Key Responsibilities:

• The candidate will conduct experimental research in the development of lightweight additively manufactured thermal management solutions based on magnesium alloys and advanced surface engineering technologies. The key responsibilities and job scope are:

• Develop and optimize magnesium-based alloys and composite materials with enhanced thermal conductivity and mechanical performance for additive manufacturing applications,

• Formulate and characterize powder feedstocks, including assessment of powder morphology, particle size distribution, flowability, and printability for metal additive manufacturing processes,

Job Requirements:

Required educational qualification, experience, skills and competencies:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field,

• Basic knowledge of materials science, heat transfer, and manufacturing processes, with exposure to thermal management applications being an advantage,

• Familiarity with metallic materials, alloy development, powder metallurgy, or material characterization techniques,

1) Pre-Award Contract Management
· Review tender documents, contracts, confidentiality agreements or the like assigned by Manager to ensure that the Company's interests and requirements are addressed and met.

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Understand the product requirements, study relevant standards and specifications, propose innovative ideas, and develop detailed hardware architectural specifications 
• Develop Signal Processing algorithms for communication products
• Define design specifications for complex hardware blocks and accelerators, in close collaboration with the digital design engineers for power, performance and timing requirements
• Provide technical leadership throughout the development, working closely and assisting designers, verification and system validation engineers, providing solutions and promptly resolving issues during the development of the SOC
• Reviewing verification and validation plans for the design verification and system teams, identifying gaps, helping to debug issues in the pre and post silicon platforms, and ensuring strict conformance with standards and specifications

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Electrical engineering or computer science

• Min 5 years of experience in SOC hardware architecture development for communication networking or switch SOC, multimedia and/or communication SOCs

Primary Roles

The Section Manager – Supplier Quality Engineering (SQE) is responsible for leading and strengthening supplier quality performance across Makino Asia’s supply chain. This role serves as a critical frontline function within QA to drive quality at source, enhance supplier defect prevention capability, and ensure robust incoming quality control.

The position will support Makino's transition from reactive quality management to preventive, process-driven quality assurance, while ensuring alignment across regional factories and suppliers.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

Supplier Quality Management & Governance

• Lead supplier quality strategy and execution to improve supplier performance and reliability.
• Drive supplier defect reduction initiatives.
• Establish and enforce supplier quality governance, KPIs, and escalation frameworks.
• Manage Vendor Quality Index (VQI) tracking and deployment.

Incoming Quality Control (IQC) & Risk-Based Inspection

• Strengthen IQC processes for high-risk components through risk-based inspection models
• Oversee incoming inspection activities including: First Article (FA), sampling, and 100% inspection and Quality lot clearance and defect segregation.
• Ensure compliance to standardized SOPs and Control Plans across suppliers and factories.

Supplier Development & Audit

• Lead supplier audits, process validation, and capability assessments.
• Drive supplier corrective actions and ensure effective closure of non-conformances.
• Develop supplier capability improvement plans focusing on process robustness and defect prevention.
• Collaborate with SCM for supplier performance reviews (e.g., QBR support).

Team Leadership & Development

Reporting & Performance Management

Qualifications and Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or Quality Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in the precision manufacturing or machine tool industry.
• At least 3–5 years of leadership experience in Supplier Quality, Quality Assurance (QA), or Quality Engineering (QE).
• Strong expertise in: -Supplier Quality Management, Incoming Inspection Systems, Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Actions, ISO 9001 and Quality Management Systems.
