Job Summary
The M&E Quantity Surveyor is responsible for managing all cost and contractual aspects of mechanical and electrical works in construction projects. The role involves cost estimation, tendering, contract administration, and financial control to ensure projects are completed within budget while maintaining quality and compliance with local regulations.
Job Responsibilities
- Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and tender documents for M&E works
- Evaluate subcontractor quotations and conduct tender analysis
- Handle procurement and contract administration of M&E subcontractors and suppliers
- Prepare and assess progress claims, variation orders (VO), and final accounts
- Monitor project costs and provide regular cost reports and forecasts
- Review drawings and specifications to identify cost implications and discrepancies
- Liaise with project team, consultants, and subcontractors on contractual and cost matters
- Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping of all contractual correspondences
- Support value engineering exercises to optimize project costs
- Ensure compliance with local regulations and guidelines, including those by Building and Construction Authority
Job Requirements
Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying, Building, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or related field
Minimum 2–5 years of relevant experience in M&E QS roles within construction projects in Singapore
Strong knowledge of M&E systems (HVAC, electrical, fire protection, plumbing & sanitary)
Good understanding of local construction practices and cost control processes
Proficient in MS Excel and QS-related software
Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
