Job Description & Requirements

• Regularly go on board container and bulk carrier vessels to carry out inspections, measurements, and repair work. Up to 60% of your working week may be spent on board vessels. Weekend work will be required.
• Regularly travel to ports and shipyards in Singapore as well as anchorages in Singapore waters to carry out inspections, measurements and repair work. Up to 60% of your working week may be spent at ports, shipyards and anchorages. Weekend work will be required.
• Manage and supervise a team of welders, machinists, fitters, technicians and other repair workers both onboard vessels and in the company workshop.
• Effectively manage multiple repair jobs on different vessels simultaneously.
• Plan manpower, materials, and work schedules for repair jobs.
• Be responsible for timely delivery of repair jobs.
• Provide cost estimates for repair enquiries.
• Understand technical drawings.
• Prepare inspection, technical, and service reports.
• Create worklists, delivery orders, and other documentation.
• Develop strong working relationships with suppliers and request price quotations for vessel spare parts, main engine components and tools.
• Develop strong working relationships with ship captains, chief engineers, and crew.
• Develop effective working relationships with various teams within the company.

Required Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Marine / Mechanical Engineering
• 1 to 3 years of experience in a similar capacity at a ship repair company, shipyard, ship owner company, or ship management company
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Fluent in English
• Must be a Singapore citizen or permanent resident (PR)

You will manage customer orders and shipments for air, ocean, customs clearance, and local delivery, coordinating with carriers, vendors, and overseas offices to ensure timely, cost-effective logistics operations and accurate order fulfillment.

Responsibilities

• Manage customer orders for air, ocean, customs clearance, local delivery, and freight forwarding for import, export, and cross-trade shipments
• Coordinate shipment bookings with carriers, vendors, and overseas offices to secure timely transport arrangements
• Develop and maintain business relationships with logistics service providers to achieve cost savings on logistics expenses
• Monitor ship schedules before arrival and oversee loading and discharge operations at ports
• Ensure timely receipt and follow-up of hire, freight, dead freight, demurrage, and dispatch payments
• Support sales order processing by providing accurate and efficient logistics coordination
• Plan, analyze, and monitor logistics processes to ensure smooth order handling and implementation
• Liaise with customers, freight forwarders, and warehouses to coordinate delivery schedules and resolve issues
• Address customer feedback and ensure accurate order fulfillment to maintain customer satisfaction
• Collect and provide data, statistics, analysis, and reports promptly to support logistics operations
• Prepare and declare import and export permits in compliance with regulations
• Perform other duties and tasks as assigned by management
