Role Summary

The Costing Engineer is responsible for end‑to‑end cost estimation, control, and reporting across semiconductor fab construction (base‑build). The role develops benchmarked, defensible cost models; supports design‑to‑cost decisions; drives tendering/commercial rigor; and ensures predictable CAPEX outcomes for cleanrooms, subfab structures, ultra‑high purity (UHP) utilities, abatement, and high‑density electrical/mechanical systems. You will collaborate with Facilities Engineering, Tool Install, Process/Equipment Engineering, QS/Commercial, Procurement, and Planning to deliver cost certainty from feasibility through handover.

Key Responsibilities:

1) Pre‑Construction / Feasibility & Concept

• Build Class 5–3 estimates for greenfield fabs, brownfield expansions, and capacity upgrades.

• Develop parametric cost models (cost per sqft cleanroom, per utility density) and maintain historical benchmarks by technology node and region.

• Identify scope/risks for cleanrooms (ISO 3–7), subfab, UPW/WWT, CDA/N₂, HPM gases, exhaust & abatement, electrical distribution, chilled water/HVAC.

2) Design Development / Front‑End Planning

As the Global Facilities Central Engineering CSA Engineer (Civil, Structural & Architectural) you will be responsible for the development, oversight, and ownership of the CSA specific subject area standardization, alignment, and programs related to CSA Engineering, design, construction, operations, and maintenance of CSA Facilities systems in support of Semiconductor Manufacturing Sites and Projects across the Micron Global Manufacturing Network. Qualifications:

• Degree in Engineering.

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in semiconductor wafer fabrication preferable with experience on systems and business processes.

As FECOS cPIE Standardization & Metrics Engineer you will be responsible to lead the team on:

• Drive for alignment and standardization across various fabs on Best-Know-Methods (BKMs)

• Develop Metrics to measure the standardization, sustainability, scalability and synchronization of the BKMs.

• Identify gaps in current programs and use SMART metrics to drive effectiveness and efficiency on program deliverables.

• Transform yield SEAL and SWATs to achieve FECOS missions, improving network resource/talent leverage.

• Implement organizational change management methods and tools to increase the speed of adoption and capture project or program return of investment.

• Ability to exercise judgment and adapt accordingly to encourage and persuade others to adopt the change required for a successful implementation of the program.

• Constantly drive productivity and eliminate inefficiency / ineffectiveness through automation and AI solutions. 

• Collaborate with various multi-functional teams on yield reports, develop business process to optimize current system with clear roles and responsibility.

Requirements:

You will lead the PI engineering team to meet product performance, quality, reliability, yield, capacity and cost objectives through cross functional collaboration with global team. Your responsibilities include but are not limited to collaborating with internal and external partners to building and implement strategies aligned to organizational and business objectives by delivering high performing and cost-effective cell device/process solutions with highest quality and predictable reliability performance. Other responsibilities include ensuring organizational compliance with company policies, departmental procedures, providing organizational leadership for building and implementing department strategies, processes, and policy through active participation in functional teams and projects.

Requirements 

• B.S/M.S./Ph.D. (or equivalent education) in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or other related technical fields  

• At least 3 or more years of semiconductor process integration experience as leadership & managerial role.

Responsibilities:

Document Control & Compliance

• Manage company documents to ensure accuracy, quality, and integrity; support compliance with record retention policies, safeguard information, and enable efficient data retrieval.

• Archive inactive records securely and systematically.

• Ensure document management processes meet company procedures and audit requirements.

• Establish and monitor records retention schedules in alignment with company policies.

• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive documents and oversee secure destruction and disposal processes.

Document Management Systems

• Administer document management systems and related software platforms, ensuring functionality and promptly coordinating with IT or relevant teams to resolve issues.

• Update and maintain document management systems and physical records, including converting hard copies to electronic formats as required.

• Report and resolve issues related to document storage and management systems.

Standardization & Process Development

• Develop and standardize document management procedures for consistent implementation across all construction projects.

• Maintain document naming and numbering conventions to ensure consistency and traceability.

Document Handling & Distribution

• Retrieve and distribute documents upon request, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.

• Maintain logs and checklists for transmittals, submittals, RFIs, punch lists, defect lists, lessons learned, and other project documentation.

• Collaborate with contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders to issue and transmit requested documents efficiently.

• Control document flow within and outside the department to maintain process integrity.

Training & Support

• Develop and update training materials for document management processes, ensuring accuracy and timely revisions.

• Conduct employee training on accessing and utilizing project documentation through tools such as Procore and ACC.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, or a related field.

• 7–10 years of experience in the construction industry.

• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in document control.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Power BI, and project/document management platforms such as ACC, Procore, Aconex, or equivalent.

• Willingness to learn and adapt to new document control systems.

• Strong ability to develop guidelines and procedures, and lead project teams in successful implementation of document control processes.

• Demonstrated ownership of deliverables with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within diverse teams.
