Junior Data Scientist – Business Operations & Analytics

Summary

We are seeking a highly analytical and strategic Junior Data Scientist to drive data-led decision making across a large-scale customer and business operations environment. This role will focus on leveraging advanced analytics, reporting, and data modelling to uncover actionable insights, improve operational performance, and influence business strategy. The ideal candidate thrives in ambiguous environments, can independently manage complex cross-functional initiatives, and is passionate about transforming data into meaningful business outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute data science and analytics strategies that support business objectives and operational excellence.
• Design, build, and maintain advanced analytical models, prototypes, and frameworks to identify trends, opportunities, and performance improvements.
• Extract, process, and analyze large, complex datasets using SQL, Python, R, and Big Data technologies.
• Create and maintain scalable dashboards, reporting systems, KPIs, and operational metrics to support business performance monitoring.
• Translate complex analytical findings into clear, actionable recommendations for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Partner closely with cross-functional teams including Operations, Product, Engineering, and Business Leadership to solve complex business challenges.
• Drive data governance, reporting best practices, and continuous improvements in analytics methodologies.
• Mentor and support analysts and data professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and analytical excellence.
• Identify opportunities to automate reporting, streamline workflows, and improve operational efficiency through data-driven solutions.
• Present insights and strategic recommendations to senior leadership to influence decision-making and business direction.

Requirements

Essential

• Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, or a related quantitative discipline.
• 2 - 3 years of experience in data analytics, data science, business intelligence, operations analytics, or a similar function.
• Advanced SQL skills, including the ability to build, optimize, and maintain complex queries against large datasets.
• Experience working with Big Data technologies and analytical tools such as Tableau, Hive, Presto, Python, and/or R.
• Strong understanding of operational metrics, KPIs, reporting frameworks, and performance measurement methodologies.
• Proven ability to perform exploratory analysis and derive actionable insights from complex datasets.
• Experience designing dashboards, reports, and visualizations that support business decision-making.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to diverse audiences.
• Strong problem-solving mindset with the ability to work independently in fast-paced and ambiguous environments.

Preferred

• Experience supporting Customer Operations, Customer Support, Scaled Operations, Shared Services, or Business Operations functions.
• Experience working with large-scale datasets in high-growth technology, digital, e-commerce, or platform-based organizations.
• Knowledge of data pipeline architecture, ETL processes, and data warehousing concepts.
• Exposure to machine learning, predictive analytics, forecasting, or statistical modelling techniques.
• Demonstrated track record of driving measurable business impact through data-driven initiatives.
• Experience mentoring analysts or leading cross-functional analytics projects.

This is an initial 12-months contract role

Responsibilities:

·      Support daily network security operations, including monitoring and basic security controls

·      Assist in vulnerability management for network devices, servers, and endpoints (scan, track, follow-up)

·      Support security monitoring and alert handling (e.g., firewall, endpoint, network logs)

·      Perform basic log analysis to identify abnormal or suspicious activities

·      Assist in incident investigation and response

·      Work with IT and regional teams to follow up and close security issues

·      Support implementation and improvement of basic security controls (network, end point, server)

·      Contribute to administrative and routine security-related tasks as needed

·      Provide ad-hoc support to group-wide security projects and initiatives

Requirements:

·      Bachelor’s degree in Information Security, Cyber Security, Computer Science, or related field

·      1–3years of experience in information security, IT security, or system/network administration

·      Basic understanding of network fundamentals (TCP/IP, firewall, VPN, etc.)

·      Basic knowledge of operating systems (Windows/Linux) and endpoint security

·      Experience with security tools or platforms (e.g., SIEM, EDR, firewall solutions)

·      Familiar with vulnerability management or basic security operations concepts

·      Able to work with teams across regions

·      Experience working in an international or cross-regional environment is a plus

·      Basic log analysis capability (Windows, Linux, network logs)

·      Able to work with teams across regions

·      Experience working with overseas or cross-regional teams is a plus

We are looking for passionate AI Engineers to join our growing team. This role combines expertise in artificial intelligence, natural language modelling, machine learning and software engineering to develop and deploy multi-agentic workflows & applications.  

Your key responsibilities

• Design, build and deploy intelligent single / multi-agentic application that leverage GenAI models (e.g. LLMs) and perform task decomposition, planning and execution.
• Develop and maintain end-to-end AI-powered workflows integrated with backend systems, APIs and data pipelines on cloud-based platforms (example Microsoft Azure, AWS).
• Develop, refine, and implement advanced NLP (natural language processing) & predictive models to generate insights from complex structured and unstructured data sets.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into scalable GenAI solutions.
• Conduct rapid prototyping, PoCs and experiments in AI agent frameworks (e.g. Lang Framework including Langchain, LangFlow, LangGraph & LangSmith or LlamaIndex)
• Ensure good code quality, packaging meeting production deployment requirements and maintainability through best practices in software engineering.
• Utilize full-stack development knowledge using DevOps with hands-on practice in language like Python, Java, React (Node.js) language to develop end-to-end application.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, presenting findings to a business / management audience and providing strategic recommendations.
• Support the production of scalable and optimised AI or machine learning (ML) models.
• Focus on building algorithms for the extraction, transformation and loading of large volumes of real-time, unstructured data to deploy AI or ML solutions from theoretical data science models.
• Run experiments to test the performance of deployed models, and identifies and resolves bugs that arise in the process.
• Work in a team setting and apply knowledge in statistics, scripting and programming languages required by the firm.
• Work with the relevant software platforms in which the models are deployed.
• Stay current with technical and industry developments and standards to ensure effective and advanced applications of data analysis techniques and methodologies.
• Define success metrics and deliverable timelines, ensuring projects are delivered on time and meet strategic objectives.

Skills and attributes for success

• Experience / beginner knowledge in Natural Language Processing (NLP), Machine Learning, , Generative AI, Data Transformation, Scripting.
• Knowledge and experience in project delivery, either traditional SDLC or agile delivery methodologies (or hybrid approaches)
• Experience in a delivery role on exploratory analysis, data science, Big Data analytics projects
• Exceptional communication, documentation and presentation skills and stakeholder management experience
• Experience in business intelligence, data warehousing/platform, and data strategy projects

To qualify for the role, you must have

• Min bachelor’s degree in computer science, Mathematics, Engineering, Statistics, or a related field.
• At least 1 year of experience with any of the domain - Natural Language Processing (NLP), Machine Learning, Generative AI specifically with Large Language Models (LLM).
• Proficiency in Python and other applicable full-stack software programming languages.
• Strong knowledge of machine learning, language modelling, data mining, and predictive modeling.
• Excellent understanding of data science algorithms, processes, tools, and platforms.
• Possess a strong problem-solving mindset, with the ability to work in ambiguous and fast-paced environments
• Knowledge of API integration, containerization (E.g., Docker), cloud platforms (E.g. Azure, AWS, GCP), automated testing frameworks, and CI/CD practices
