The NUHS@Home nurse provides nursing care to patients who require acute medical treatment but who are able to be cared for in their homes rather than in a hospital. The nurse works in collaboration with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement care plans, monitor patient progress, and educate patients and their families on self-care techniques.

We are seeking one highly motivated and creative postdoctoral researcher to join our dynamic team at the Synthetic Biology for Clinical and Technological Innovation (SynCTI), Synthetic Biology Translational Research Programme, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore (NUS) and the National Centre for Engineering Biology (NCEB).  

The selected Research Fellow will work collaboratively with the Principal Investigator (PI) and our research team on projects aimed at advancing sustainable bioproduction. Ideal candidates will possess expertise in metabolic pathway engineering, microbial engineering and the development of cell factories for bioproduction. The main responsibilities of the position include One postdoc position is available at the Surface and Interface Lab (Prof. CHEN WEI’s group), National University of Singapore. The project focuses on the interface engineering for 2D materials based device and related electrical and optoelectrical characterization for memory and neuromorphic computing application.

The selected candidate will work together with a team comprising experts in MBE growth and STM characterization, device fabrication and related electrical and optoelectrical characterization, and surface reaction mechanism study using home-made interface characterization tools. 

Qualifications

Qualifications / Discipline: PhD in Physics/ Chemistry/ Materials in a research intensive and renowned University or Research Institute.

About the Role

The appointee will be part of the CEMS AI & Software team in developing digital solutions to enhance simulator training and assessment, innovate in training pedagogy for the maritime industry. The role may also involve contributing to department- and school-level software initiatives that support digitalisation and automation across R&D, operations, and education.

Responsibilities:

• Lead projects and provide technical contributions across the full software development lifecycle (SDLC), including requirements gathering with industry partners and internal stakeholders.

• Work closely with the AI team at CEMS to deploy and integrate AI solutions—such as Natural Language Processing, computer vision, and data analytics —into simulation platforms to enhance training and assessment capabilities.
