Job Summary

Oversee and maintain railroad tracks to meet safety and regulatory standards. Coordinate with departments to implement maintenance strategies and ensure smooth, secure railway operations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee maintenance of railroad tracks to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and safety protocols
• Apply deep knowledge of rail infrastructure and track engineering fundamentals to maintain track integrity
• Conduct regular inspections and assessments to identify faults or areas needing improvement in rails, ties, ballast, and drainage systems
• Develop and implement proactive maintenance and repair strategies based on inspection findings
• Coordinate with operations, safety, and engineering departments to plan and execute maintenance activities effectively
• Manage resources efficiently to support continuous railway operations and maintenance
• Stay updated on the latest industry standards and best practices to enhance track maintenance and safety

Job Summary

Lead and coordinate construction teams to deliver quality projects on schedule while ensuring compliance with safety standards and fostering continuous improvement through training and collaboration with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and align teams to deliver high-quality construction work within strict deadlines
• Monitor construction processes to ensure compliance with project specifications and quality standards
• Conduct equipment, material, and routine site inspections to maintain operational safety and quality
• Develop and deliver training and team-building sessions to enhance workforce skills and collaboration
• Schedule and lead regular meetings with vendors, site inspectors, managers, and staff to ensure project alignment
• Collaborate closely with architects and other professionals to integrate design and construction requirements
• Stay informed on current safety codes and construction industry advancements to apply best practices
• Assist in recruiting and training new staff to build a competent and compliant workforce
• Ensure strict adherence to health and safety regulations at all times on site
• Visit construction sites daily to oversee progress and address issues promptly
• Manage workload demands including working beyond regular hours and on weekends or public holidays as required

Key Responsibilities

Electricians perform a variety of tasks to ensure electrical systems function safely and efficiently. Their duties typically include:

• Installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical wiring, fixtures, control systems, and equipment 
• To plan installations and repairs. 
• Inspecting electrical components such as transformers, circuit breakers, and wiring to identify hazards, defects, or the need for maintenance. 
• Troubleshooting electrical malfunctions using testing devices. 
• Ensuring compliance and safety regulations. 
• Maintain safe and efficient operation of electrical system and providing cost estimates for repairs or installation.   
• Performing physically demanding tasks, climbing ladders. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Interface Management: Coordinate and manage the interfaces between trackwork and other engineering disciplines, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
• Project Coordination: Oversee the planning, design, and implementation of trackwork projects, ensuring alignment with overall project goals and timelines.
• Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with trackwork interfaces, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and standards.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including contractors, engineers, and regulatory bodies, to ensure smooth project execution.
• Quality Assurance: Implement and maintain quality control processes for trackwork, ensuring adherence to specifications and standards.
• Technical Support: Provide technical expertise and support to project teams, addressing any issues related to trackwork interfaces.
• Documentation: Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation, including interface management plans, interface control documents, risk assessments, and progress reports.
• Compliance: Ensure all trackwork activities comply with relevant standards, LTA requirements and best practices.

Primary Objectives of Position

• Oversee and manage all maintenance activities within the depot and workshop
• Ensure the availability and reliability of passenger trains, engineering train vehicles, light rail vehicles, and workshop or plant equipment
• Control and monitor the section’s budget expenditure
• Ensure all defects in vehicles and equipment are rectified promptly, safely, and effectively
• Provide technical support to other Rolling Stock sections, including developing and managing maintenance plans, work instructions, procedures, and technical documentation, as well as reporting performance data
• Ensure all Rolling Stock staff and contractors are properly trained, competent, and able to perform their duties safely within the railway environment
• Take overall responsibility for corrective and preventive maintenance of passenger trains, engineering trains, light rail vehicles, and depot plant equipment
• Lead and oversee all engineering projects related to Rolling Stock
