Job Summary
Perform surface preparation and painting tasks safely and efficiently, including working at heights and maintaining work areas and equipment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, scraping, sanding, and filling cracks or holes in walls and ceilings using putty or plaster to ensure smooth painting surfaces
- Apply paint, varnishes, sealants, and finishes using rollers, brushes, or spray guns to deliver high-quality coatings
- Follow workplace safety rules and consistently use personal protective equipment to maintain a safe work environment
- Protect adjacent surfaces from paint splatters by covering them and clean work areas thoroughly after painting tasks
- Maintain painting tools and equipment by properly handling, cleaning, and storing them to ensure readiness and longevity
- Erect scaffolding or operate lifting equipment such as boom lifts to safely access elevated painting areas
- Work at heights, in confined spaces, and outdoors for extended periods, demonstrating physical fitness and endurance
- Mix paint colors and apply coatings according to job specifications and quality standards
