What You’ll Do

The Rates Strategist will support idea generation, trade structuring, building monitors, tracking markets across global rates complex for the investment team. This role involves analysing economic data, yield curves, fixed-income markets, and policy developments to produce actionable insights. The strategist will collaborate closely with the CIO and the investment team to deliver high quality analysis and trade ideas.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Monitor and analyse global interest rate markets, including bonds, swaps, money markets, and related derivatives
• Track macroeconomic indicators, central bank policies, and geopolitical events to assess implications for rates markets
• Conduct yield curve analysis, term premium decomposition, and scenario modelling
• Contribute to daily, weekly, and thematic research publications
• Develop relative value and directional trade ideas in rates markets
• Support internal discussions on market positioning, risk themes, and strategy recommendations for clients
• Build and maintain analytical models, dashboards and tools to support systematic screening and idea generation (e.g., curve fitting, regression models, PCA, scenario simulators)
• Manage time series data, Bloomberg extractions, and automated reporting tools
• Work with quant/technology team to enhance data pipelines and dashboards
• Partner with portfolio managers to assess market dislocations, liquidity, and positioning

Who We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or related field
• 2–5 years of experience in a financial market role (research, trading, strategy, economics, quant, or related), with a deep understanding of interest rate derivatives and fixed income securities
• Strong understanding of macroeconomics and central bank policy frameworks
• Proficiency in Excel; familiarity with Bloomberg and programming knowledge in Python/R/SQL
• Strong writing skills and ability to communicate complex market topics clearly
• High attention to detail and ability to work in fast paced environments

What You’ll Do

As a Macroeconomic Research Analyst, you’ll work closely with our investment team to develop insights and tools that directly support real-time investment decisions. Your key responsibilities will include:

• Develop and maintain proprietary macro models covering GDP, inflation, current account dynamics, and monetary policy across G10 and EM economies
• Monitor and synthesize central bank communications (Fed, ECB, BOJ, RBI, BOK, PBoC) to forecast policy trajectories and rate differentials
• Track real-time economic data releases with a focus on deviations from consensus and second-order market implications
• Translate macro views into specific trade recommendations across rates, FX, equities
• Prepare daily/weekly market commentary synthesizing macro developments, central bank signalling, and positioning data
• Monitor global capital flows, speculative positioning (COT, prime brokerage data), and investor sentiment indicators

What You’ll Do

Responsible for Portfolio, Market & Macro Risk oversight, support Investor relations, interact with Fund Board and Investors. You will:

• Own the firm-wide VaR framework and stress testing
• Monitor real-time P&L attribution, Greeks across G10/EM FX, rates, commodities, and equity index exposures
• Establish and enforce risk limits at the fund
• Lead post-drawdown reviews and provide analytical frameworks for risk reduction and portfolio re-entry decisions
• Evaluate option book risk using Greeks and Ladders
• Monitor liquidity risk including bid-offer widening, market depth deterioration, and margin/haircut dynamics across prime brokers
• Assess cross-asset correlations and second-order risks arising from geopolitical events, central bank policy shifts, and volatility regime changes
• Maintain a forward-looking risk calendar covering major macro events: central bank meetings, elections, key data releases, geopolitical flashpoints
• Contribute original risk-oriented macro research; challenge portfolio thesis assumptions with structured adverse scenario analysis

Who We’re Looking For

Technical Skills

• 10+ years of risk management experience at a macro hedge fund, multi-strategy fund, or global markets trading desk at a tier-one institution
• Deep understanding of global macro markets FX, rates, commodities, and equity index including derivatives pricing and risk conventions
• Proven experience owning a VaR and stress-testing framework in a live trading environment, including during periods of market dislocation
