You will lead and supervise a team of Technical Officers in performing both preventive maintenance and corrective maintenance on air-conditioning & mechanical ventilation system which consist of large water-cooled chillers, water pumps, cooling towers, air handling units, fan coil units, mechanical ventilation fans, etc. including tunnel ventilation system (tunnel ventilation and tunnel booster fans).

• Prepare and submit monthly work schedules. Ensure all monthly maintenance work orders are scheduled and carried out as planned and are closed promptly.
• Ensure that all works carried out comply strictly with the statutory Codes of Practices, approved work instruction /task list, in-house Work Safety Manual, Quality Procedures and Quality Assurance System etc.
• Review all maintenance records and certify the safety critical work order completion and to feedback any fault or abnormality and to take remedial action if required.
• Participate, review and update work instruction /task list to ensure that all latest requirements are met and to enhance productivity.
• Ensure that all reported faults are followed up.
• Coordinate and attend to interfacing works, testing, commissioning and taking over of newly installed Environmental Control System (ECS) equipment.
• Work closely with the Land Transport Authority (LTA) and their contractor to close all faults and defects registered during the equipment Defect Liability Period (DLP).
• Ensure that the maintenance key performance targets are met every month.
• Ensure safety in the workplace through close supervision and implementation of all safety requirements.

Requirements:

• A Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Building Services Technology or Facilities Management. Candidate with NITEC/ Higher NITEC qualification but with more than 10 years of relevant experience will also be considered.
• Minimum 2-3 years of relevant post-graduate working experience in operation and maintenance of building facilities systems (air-conditioning & mechanical ventilation system, low voltage system, fire protection system and other related M&E equipment). Candidate with relevant experience in dealing with both air-con control system and minor electrical trouble-shooting work will have an added advantage.
• Candidate with more than 6 years of relevant experience will be given a senior post.
• Candidate must be prepared to work in 3 rotating shifts.
• Must be self-motivated, resourceful, organized, independent and possess strong interpersonal & communication skills.
• Ability to think logically and be a good team player.
• Class 3 License is a plus point.

To operate, maintain and repair all power system equipment installed in SMRT in compliance with our Quality objective as stated in our Quality Procedures (QP) /Work Instructions (WI) /Task lists.

• To lead a team of technical officers to carry out and/ or supervise for preventive and corrective maintenance works on SMRT power system in compliance with relevant procedures and safety requirement.

• To carry out and/ or assist EMM supervision of corrective maintenance, upgrading, modification work and major repair work as assigned by EMM/ Section Manager. Prepare and submit reports on completion of work.
• To comply and exercise safety at all times in accordance to Safety Procedures.
• To attend Permit-to-work for all internal and external work parties.
• To perform rotating shift duties.
• To perform driving duty.
• To conduct home-based safety talk and compile monthly overtime report.

Job Purpose

To carry out/ perform Electrical, Mechanical and Fire (EMF) line maintenance activities, investigate incident/ accidents, carry out checks to ensure safety aspects are met and guarantee quality assurance for overall achievement of maintenance requirements in compliance to SMRT Quality objective as stated in the Quality Procedures (QP)/ Work Instructions (WI)/ Tasklists.

Responsibilities

• To lead and manage a team of Technical Officers (TO) to carry out preventive maintenance (PM) and corrective maintenance (CM) works on EMF equipment and system in compliance with SMRT Quality and Safety procedures and requirement.
• To plan team maintenance work schedule and execute the scheduled PM/ CM works according to team manpower in most effective and efficient manner.
• To supervise all repairs and upgrading works carried out by minor work term contractor.
• To attend faults as reported by Operations Command Centre (OCC) for EMF equipment.
• To manage and ensure that the EMF system are properly maintained and keep it in state of good and operational condition.
• To conduct briefing and tool box meeting before team members start their shift work.
• To supervise and ensure that the team TOs carry out their duties and responsibilities safely and efficiently.
• To provide technical advice, information and instructions to team TOs and other staffs, and ensure all drawings, diagrams, manuals, PM and CM records are kept current and updated.
• To assist Engineering Maintenance Manager (EMM) in conducting engineering and safety analysis, investigations, and testing.
• Carry out and/ or assist EMM in supervision of corrective maintenance, upgrading, modification work and major repair work carryout by upgrading contractors/ Land Transport Authority (LTA)/ Developer interface works as assigned by EMM. Prepare and submit reports on completion of work.
• To comply and exercise safety at all times in accordance to Safety Procedures and conduct monthly team safety talk to team staffs.
• To perform rotating shift duties.

• To coordinate with LTA on the maintenance aspects for EMF equipment and review/comment the equipment, design, drawings and manuals submission for ongoing Thomson East Coast Line Project.
• To conduct site interactive audit session with new staff on safe isolation procedures and operation of EMF equipment.

• To carry out the schedule preventive maintenance (PM) work on power system in compliance with relevant procedures and safety requirement.
• To assist Engineering Maintenance Manager (EMM) in supervision of corrective maintenance (CM), upgrading, modification work and major repair work as assigned by EMM. Prepare and submit reports on completion of work.
• To perform general housekeeping, inspection, collect and deliver stores, spare and equipment for the PM & CM work.
• To comply and exercise safety at all times in accordance to Safety Procedures.
• To attend Permit-to-work for all internal and external work parties.

• To carry out home based equipment, tools and spare checklist.

Job Purpose

The Assistant Engineer’s job scope shall include leading a team of Technical Officer(s) to perform Preventive Maintenance (PM), Corrective Maintenance (CM), Overhaul (OH) and Engineering Support (ES) on all SMRT Thomson-East Coast Line (STEL) Trains, Depot and Workshop equipment so as to provide a safe, reliable and comfortable journey for our commuters.

Responsibilities

• Be aligned and act in accordance to SMRT's Vision, Mission, Service Standard and Core Values.
• Ensure good understanding, knowledge and skills needed for all maintenance activities and provide support for staff training.
• Lead and supervise a team of Technical Officer(s) to perform preventive, corrective, overhaul, troubleshooting, engineering analysis, investigation or any assigned maintenance activities on all rolling stocks, depot and workshop equipment.
• Assist to plan and coordinate staff deployment and shift roster to optimise resources utilisation.
• Verify and ensure all tasks executed by the team are in accordance to latest Work Instructions, Quality, Maintenance, Operational and Safety Procedures, and to ensure personal and peers’ safety at all times.
• Ensure spares, tools and equipment used are in good condition and calibrated if necessary.
• Perform train shunting activities and operate depot equipment, maintenance vehicles and maintenance equipment to support maintenance activities of the group.
• Verify and ensure work records done by the team are updated factually, accurately and timely on Work Records Form and on the Maintenance Management System
• Report immediately any abnormalities or practices observed that are not in accordance to Work Instructions, Quality, Maintenance, Operational and Safety Procedures.
• Adopt KAIZEN methodology (5M, 5S & 5W) to eliminate 8 Wastes and improve Productivity and Value of work performed.
• Provide support to staff, contractors or any other personnel who are required to perform work on depot and all rolling stocks.
• To support the group during incidents, accidents and emergencies.
• Ensure excellent housekeeping are maintained within all work areas.
• Maintain a high level of work discipline and standards.
• Perform any other task as assigned.

Qualifications & Work Experience

• Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical or Mechatronics Technology/ Engineering from a recognized institution.
• Preferably 5 year’s relevant experience in the railway environment.
