A Security Engineer I is professional responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining technical security measures, focusing on vulnerability management, threat detection, and infrastructure protection. They secure cloud/on-prem environments using automation (Python, Terraform) and tools like SIEM or EDR, often collaborating with DevOps to remediate security risks and strengthen security posture.

Essential Functions:

• Develop and maintain security policies, guidelines, and lead implementation in all systems, including AWS and in particular CloudTrail, EKS, AWS Inspector, EC2, EMR, S3, AWS Identity Center, RDS, Security Hub, Guard Duty.

• Architect, design, implement, support, and evaluate security-focused tools and controls to meet security and compliance needs.

•  Integrate security checks into the CI/CD pipelines to ensure continuous compliance and shift left security practice.

• Utilize tools like Terraform or Cloud Formation to build, deploy and enforce compliance and secure cloud infrastructure.

• Utilize networking (VPC, Firewall, Transit Gateways), container security and encryption.

• Builds scripts (phyton, bash) and serverless functions (AWS Lambda) for alerting on anomalies, misconfigurations and threats include automations to auto respond to such threat actors/findings.

• Oversee threat management and security incident handling, including the coordination of investigations and reporting of security incidents to management, in alignment with business.

•  Work with the team and QSA on PCI (level 1 & level 2 service provider) & SOC initiatives for the company.

• Ensure that security is factored into the evaluation, selection, and configuration of hardware, applications and software.

• Ensure audit trails, systems logs and other monitoring data sources are reviewed periodically and are in compliance with policies and audit requirements. Provide support and guidance for legal and regulatory compliance efforts, including audit support.

• Promote information security awareness throughout the company. Stay current with security technologies and threats by monitoring vendor and industry publications and attending training.

• Secure sensitive data, manage user credentials through principal of least privileges, track user activity.

• Proactively identify security risks and implement practices that meet standards for information security, by analyzing current systems, and working with IT and the business. Partner with development and infrastructure teams to identify and remediate vulnerabilities Develop mitigation plans.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or related technical field

• 3 to 5 years in cybersecurity experience within a professional environment

• Certified Information Systems Security Professional certification is a plus

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Experience with IDS/IPS, file integrity, internal/ external penetration & vulnerability tests, FIM, SEIM, Log aggregation tools required

• Development and scripting experience to build automation: Lambda, Terraform, Cloud Formation, API Integrations

• Understanding of the software development life cycle and CI/CD pipelines

• Ability to execute process and standards around code quality and the deployment lifecycle including SAST and DAST

• Experience in SIEM, MDR, EDR, DLP Identity Management, WAF, WAS, Incident Response, attack surface management

• Proactively find weaknesses in applications and network through audits, penetration tests and security assessments

• Prepare reports on security metrics, attempted attacks, document findings and actions taken

• Proven record of learning new languages, skills and technologies quickly, with minimal guidance

ROLE OVERVIEW

We are looking for a junior-to-mid level Business Analyst, Data & Insights to support the Data team in turning business questions into useful reporting, analysis, and recommendations. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with data, asking practical business questions, and communicating findings clearly to non-technical stakeholders.

Working closely with the Data Lead and data engineer, you will help scope reporting requests, clarify basic metrics and definitions, validate data outputs, support dashboard improvements, and prepare insight summaries for client presentations, management briefings, and internal discussions.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Business Analysis, Requirements & Stakeholder Management

▸  Work with internal stakeholders to understand business questions, reporting needs, and decision-making context.

▸  Help translate stakeholder requests into clear analytical briefs, data requirements, and reporting specifications for the Data Team.

▸  Clarify objectives, assumptions, metric definitions, and expected outputs with guidance from the Data Lead.

▸  Coordinate with commercial, marketing, client service, and data teams to keep analytics requests moving and ensure outputs are practical and timely.

Reporting Products, Dashboards & Process Improvement

▸  Support the maintenance and improvement of internal BI dashboards covering sales, patron behaviour, campaign performance, and client activity.

▸  Gather user feedback, note reporting gaps, and document simple dashboard improvement requests.

▸  Assist standardizing recurring reporting templates, metrics, and workflows to improve consistency and reduce manual effort.

▸  Check dashboard outputs, data extracts, and recurring reports against source data before circulation.

Data Analysis, Insights & Recommendations

▸  Analyse patron, sales, campaign, and event performance data to identify useful trends, patterns, and opportunities.

▸  Use existing patron segmentation frameworks to interpret lifecycle groups such as high-value, at-risk, and lapsed patrons, and translate findings into practical next steps.

▸  Support behavioural analyses covering genre preferences, booking patterns, group size, attendance frequency, spend behaviour, and Culture Pass usage.

▸  Summaries analytical findings into clear observations and recommended next steps for client, management, or internal discussions.

Client Deliverables & Business Reporting

▸  Prepare business-ready data packs, insight summaries, and reporting outputs for assigned promoter clients, venues, and internal stakeholders.

▸  Support ad-hoc analyses such as patron retention studies, genre gateway analysis, cohort comparisons, and campaign reviews.

▸  Present findings in plain language, connecting data observations to business implications and suggested actions.

▸  Ensure reports are accurate, consistent, and appropriate for the intended audience, whether for client presentations, management briefings, or internal reviews.

Documentation& Best Practices

▸  Document business rules, metric definitions, reporting logic, assumptions, and data checks in a clear and organised manner.

▸  Write clear SQL and Python code where required, with support from the Data Lead and data engineer.

▸  Adhere to SISTIC's data governance and confidentiality standards, maintaining clear records for patron-level and commercially sensitive data work.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Business Analysis & Communication

Technical Aptitude

▸   Degree or diploma in Business Analytics, Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, Information Systems, or equivalent.

Data Handling:

▸  Working knowledge of SQL for querying data, and basic Python or similar tools for data manipulation and analysis. Big Query experience is a plus.

▸  Familiarity with BI or visualisation tools such as Apache Superset, Tableau, or Power BI.

▸  Comfortable interpreting basic segmentation outputs and analytical summaries.

▸  Strong Excel skills for data validation, reconciliation, formatting, and ad-hoc analysis, including VLOOKUP and Pivot Tables.

Preferred

▸  Some exposure to business analysis, product analytics, reporting operations, dashboards, or analytics project work.

▸  Experience preparing simple analytical summaries, reporting notes, user stories, or client-facing reports from data.

▸  Prior internship or work experience in ticketing, media, e-commerce, retail, consulting, business analytics, or a consumer-facing analytics environment.
