Job Responsibilities:

• Assist in planning and execution of shipbuilding and ship repair projects from kick-off to delivery
• Coordinate with shipyard departments (engineering, production, QA/QC) to track construction progress
• Liaise with clients, classification societies, and regulatory authorities for inspections and approvals
• Support procurement and expediting of materials, equipment, and subcontractor services
• Prepare and maintain project documentation, including reports, drawings, permits, and test records
• Attend site meetings, inspections, and sea trials when required

Job Requirements

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Maritime Studies or related field
• 2–5 years of experience in shipbuilding, ship repair or marine engineering projects 
• Familiarity with shipyard processes such as hull construction, outfitting, and commissioning
• Basic understanding of classification society requirements (e.g., BV,ABS, DNV, Lloyd’s Register) 
• Exposure to vessel types such aluminum, passenger, fibre vessels
• Knowledge of Singapore shipyard practices and safety standards 
• Familiarity with local regulatory authority Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore requirements
• Experience working in large commercial Singapore shipyards is advantageous

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Finance & Leadership

• Act as a key strategic partner to the CEO on financial performance, forecasting, risk management and strategic decision-making to drive measurable business growth
• Provide financial insights on capital allocation, ROI analysis, project and vessel profitability, and evolving maritime business models
• Drive alignment of financial and operational resources to maximize project outcomes and overall business value

Financial Operations, Planning & Reporting

• Lead financial operations to ensure accurate accounting, effective cost control and sound corporate finance management aligned with business strategy
• Oversee financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support data-driven decision-making
• Prepare and present monthly and quarterly financial reports and cash-flow projections to the CEO and Board
• Oversee the preparation of consolidated financial statements, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements
• Drive continuous improvement in financial processes, systems, controls and data quality to support scalability and growth

Governance, Risk & Compliance

• Develop and implement governance frameworks to strengthen internal controls, compliance, and risk management within the company
• Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, statutory, tax, and regulatory requirements
• Coordinate with external auditors, legal counsel, and tax advisors on audits, compliance, structuring, and cross-border transactions

Capital Management & Fundraising

• Manage banking relationships, financing facilities and capital market activities
• Lead capital-raising initiatives including equity, debt, grants and strategic financing relevant to maritime and infrastructure projects
• Partner with the CEO, investors, banks and advisors on financial modelling, due diligence, and investor materials
• Lead and support fundraising activities by preparing financial models, pitch materials, data rooms and responses to investor due diligence

Investor & Stakeholder Relations

• Manage investor relations and communications with the Board of Directors and external stakeholders
• Build and maintain strong relationships with banks, financial institutions, investment funds, auditors and advisors
• Ensure transparency, accuracy and credibility in all financial communications

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics preferred. Open to candidates with Bachelor’s degrees in other disciplines
• Professional qualification (CPA, ACCA, CFA) or equivalent are strongly preferred
• 10+ years of finance experience, with at least 5 years in senior finance leadership
• Experience in maritime and shipping preferred
• Proven track record of driving financial performance and business growth with strong financial modelling, analysis and reporting skills.
• Proficient in both English and Chinese language

Competencies:

• Strong strategic thinking and business acumen, with the ability to advise on capital allocation, ROI and project profitability
• Proven leadership and ability to build, mentor and oversee finance team
• Hands-on experience in financial planning, analysis, reporting and governance frameworks

Purpose of the Role:

The Naval Architect will lead the conceptualisation, design, and development of innovative fully electric vessels, ensuring optimal performance, safety, and compliance with regulatory standards. By applying advanced naval architecture principles alongside cutting-edge electric propulsion technologies, you will be supporting the company’s mission to deliver sustainable, zero-emission maritime solutions that address evolving market demands. The position involves close collaboration with multidisciplinary
teams and active involvement throughout the vessel lifecycle — from design and construction to maintenance and retrofitting.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Design & Development:

• Lead or support the end-to-end design of fully electric vessels from hull form optimisation to detailed structural and outfitting plans.

• Create and adapt designs for various vessel types including river cruises, launch boats, ferries, tugs and workboats.

• Develop 2D/3D models and detailed production drawings using Rhino, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and Maxsurf.

• Integrate major equipment systems such as electric propulsion systems (battery systems, motors, control units), propulsion shafltine, steering gear systems etc. into vessel architecture with multidisciplinary teams.

• Develop a proper vessel weight budget control framework for each unique vessel design,

• Modify and customise existing hull designs for performance, safety, and aesthetics.

2. Technical Calculations & Compliance:

• Perform hydrostatic, hydrodynamic, structural, and stability analyses tailored to electric propulsion constraints.

• Analyse resistance, propulsion, and manoeuvrability to optimize vessel efficiency and operational cost.

• Ensure compliance with regulatory and classification standards (e.g., IMO, SOLAS, MPA, BV, DNV).

3. Project & Lifecycle Support:

• Work closely with shipbuilders, engineers, and stakeholders to bring designs to life including visiting shipyards, overseeing builds, and participating in sea trials.

• Provide technical support for the repair, maintenance, and retrofitting of vessels.

• Conduct risk assessments for structural integrity and operational safety throughout a vessel’s lifespan.

Key Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or a closely related discipline. Fresh graduates are welcome to apply as well.

• Minimum 2 to 6 years’ experience in vessel design, preferably with exposure to electric propulsion or sustainable maritime technologies.

• Experienced working within shipyards, design consultancies, or marine engineering firms is highly advantageous.

• Strong knowledge of naval architecture fundamentals including hydrostatics, hydrodynamics, stability, structural design, and materials science.

• Proven ability to apply technical skills using CAD software such as Rhino, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and Maxsurf.

• Familiarity with simulation and analysis tools including CFD software (e.g., StarCCM+) and finite element analysis (e.g., ANSYS) is preferred.

• Demonstrated understanding of classification society requirements (e.g., BV, DNV) and international maritime regulations (e.g., IMO, SOLAS).

• Excellent problem-solving skills, with a pragmatic and innovative approach to design challenges.

• Strong communication and teamwork skills, with experience collaborating across multidisciplinary teams.
