Job Scope :

To assist the Centre Manager in the overall daily operations of the Active Ageing Centre.

Job functions:

- To coordinate support services and organize inter-generational activities for the seniors in the identified blocks within the service cluster

- Ensure that the programs and activities meet the performance indicators and operating guidelines issued by AIC and preparation of reports

- To mentor and motivate a team of AAC staff and volunteers

- Befriending and Buddying of identified seniors

- To conduct regular outreach to the seniors in the identified blocks

- Establish and motivate seniors to run mutual help groups

- Preparation and submission of internal and external reports

- Supervision and manning of the Alert Alarm System

- To maintain and update Information and Referral Service record and follow-up actions

- Assisting seniors with letter reading, handphone issues

- Up-keeping of facilities and equipment provided in the centre

Qualification & Experience :

• “A” Level / Diploma in Community & Social Service
• At least one to two years of related working experience
• At least one to two years of Volunteering experience

Special Aptitude & Knowledge :

• People-oriented and passionate towards working with seniors and for seniors. Knowledge of the role and function of Active Aging Centre would be an added advantage.

Job Responsibilities

In charge of daily operations of the Active Ageing Centre (AAC).

• Supervise Centre staff
• Coordinate support services and organize inter-generational activities for the Seniors in the identified blocks within the service cluster
• Ensure that the programs and activities meet the performance indicators and operating guidelines issued by the Agency for Integrated Care (AIC)and preparation of reports
• To mentor and motivate a team of AAC staff and volunteers
• Befriending and Buddying to identified seniors
• To conduct regular outreach to the seniors in the identified blocks
• Establish and motivate seniors to run mutual help groups
• Preparation and submission of internal and external reports
• Supervision and manning of the Alert Alarm System
• Ensure the Centre is well-maintained at all times

Job Requirements

• Possess GCE ‘A’ Level or Diploma in Community & Social Service
• Have at least 4 years of related work experience in AAC
• Have knowledge on the role and function of AAC, would be an advantage
• People-oriented and passionate towards working with Seniors and for Seniors

- Assist in recruitment and management of volunteers and organize befriending activities

- Assist in administrative work and submission of reports

- Up-keeping the facilities and equipments provided in the centre

- Maintain and update Information and Referral Services record

- Befriending and Buddying of identified seniors

- Assisting seniors with letter reading, handphone issues

To assist the Centre Manager in ensuring quality and reliability in providing Befriending services to all socially isolated Seniors

• To conduct regular outreach to the seniors in the identified blocks

• Assist in community assets mapping i.e. blocks, services mapping.

• Assist in outreach events i.e. door-knocking, needs assessment, info-sharing session

• Performing befriending duties

• Conduct Home Visits, Track status of seniors, Conducting activities with clients

• Recruitment of befriending volunteers

• Training of befriending volunteers

• Mentor senior volunteers to spot early signs of neglect, loneliness, or depression

• Any other responsibilities as assigned by the Centre Manager

Requirements:

Minimum Diploma with 1-2 years experience in an Eldercare setting/Community Care

Strong Communication skills, Interpersonal Skills, Meticulous, Observant
