Account Manager, within the Singapore GWM Team focusing on driving intermediary distribution business initiatives in both Singapore and South Asia. This position is based in Singapore.

PIMCO is recognized as a leading fixed income and alternatives manager among institutions and wholesale platforms in Singapore. Backed by our well-established wholesale platform in the major APAC markets, we are aiming to expand our distribution franchise further in Singapore and South Asia. As such, PIMCO has decided to recruit a seasoned business developer to grow our presence in the region.

The Account Manager will report to the Head of Singapore Retail, and work within a team covering this market to develop new business, both for new and existing clients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work with the team to develop and execute a business development and relationship management strategy for the intermediary distribution business in Singapore and South Asia (key markets would include Thailand, Malaysia, Philippines and Indonesia).
• Build and maintain a detailed knowledge of key business and strategic issues.
• Acquisition and ongoing service of new and existing clients and mandates. Take ownership of the client relationships from front to back, ensure that all operational, compliance and legal requirements are met and business is conducted in line with practice.
• Marketing of the full range of PIMCO’s products and services to the assigned investor base with the assistance of senior investment professionals where appropriate. Development and implementation of a plan to identify prospects and raise assets across all PIMCO products.
• Proven track record in growing the intermediary distribution business in Singapore and South Asia (key markets would include Thailand, Malaysia, Philippines and Indonesia).
• Stature, gravitas and seniority to operate at the highest level –internally and externally.
• Outstanding sales closing, relationship management and negotiation skills. Capable of driving your own agenda.
• Collegiate team player, experienced and comfortable working in an international operating environment.
• An understanding of the dynamics of investment management industry focused on meeting client demands. Ideally, this should be at a relatively sophisticated level of knowledge.
• A significant understanding of economics, capital markets and investment concepts gained from 7-10 years’ experience within the financial services industry. Experience in fixed income, alternatives, private credit and real estate are strongly preferred
• Experienced business developer and servicer focused on meeting with clients very regularly and representing the firm at client meetings and key events
• Global experience working for asset management
• Language skill appropriate to the region Education
• Bachelor/MBA degree
• CFA or CAIA, or progress towards attaining the designation

Job Description:

Middle Office primary responsibility is management and governance over a key control environment that supports the day-to-day trade life cycle of the PIMCO Portfolio Management teams. The Team supports Sydney, Tokyo, Singapore and Hong Kong Portfolio Management Teams, trading across all APAC markets and various product types from Fixed Income to Equity products. Middle Office team members collaborate across internal functional teams: Portfolio Management, Trade Support, Legal & Compliance, Operations, Technology and State Street IMS (back office).

In addition, Middle Office team members regularly engage with external parties such as brokers, custodian banks and third party trading platforms for issues resolution, system enhancements and market initiatives/projects.

Job Requirements:

Trade-related tasks:

1. Perform block trade confirmations in STP or on paper vs. broker confirms
2. Monitoring sensitive trade settlements and act as escalation point to Statestreet IMS in Fails resolution
3. Research and resolve daily inquiries from internal and external groups
4. Coordinating onboarding and managing access to relevant trading platforms and applications
5. Achieve and maintain operational excellence in adherence to internal policy and procedures

Daily Reporting:

1. Prepare and distribute daily trade activity and end of day reports
2. Perform daily Equity position and market value reconciliations
3. Monitoring for APAC Regulatory Trade Reporting & resolve any late trades to prevent regulatory breach

Ad Hoc:

1. Assist in the monthly metrics reporting and work with back office to resolve identified risk items
2. Participate in projects to enhance PIMCO’s operational environment
3. Utilize technology to create efficiencies and improve processes to daily workflow
4. Develop and analyze internal trade flow metrics and recommend process improvements

Job Description:

• Serve as the local expert on PIMCO’s alternatives portfolios internally and externally.
• Develop and execute business development programs designed to increase revenue growth.
• Work with investors and their advisors to identify and assess investment needs and recommend suitable investment strategies and solutions.
• Identify local demand for new alternative products; develop, position and support those products.
• Collaborate with client facing, legal, finance, marketing and other functional groups to implement and execute on business plans.
• Develop a strong partnership with the portfolio management team.
• Represent PIMCO’s alternative products in APAC, serving as the product expert to relationship managers and other internal stakeholders.
• Represent PIMCO’s alternative products externally at client meetings, industry conferences and meetings with other market participants in APAC.
• Develop marketing content, servicing and educational materials, including marketing and servicing presentations, recurring commentaries and investor reports, white papers, and other materials for publication.
• Partner with client-facing PIMCO professionals to support and grow our alternatives business globally.

Job Requirements:

• 5-8 years of fixed income, asset management, wealth management, or related financial services experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in in Business/Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or Accounting preferred.
• Well organized; high energy level/self-starter; strong results orientation. The ability to work effectively and professionally across seniority levels both internally and externally.
• Ability to organize and communicate information effectively with clients and team members.
