Job Summary
You will manage import and export permit declarations and oversee shipping documentation to ensure seamless shipment processing. Collaborate effectively with overseas suppliers and shipping lines to resolve claims and discrepancies, driving operational efficiency and compliance.
Responsibilities
- Declare import and export permits accurately using E2open TradeNet to ensure regulatory compliance
- Manage and organize shipping documentation to support timely shipment processing
- Liaise proactively with overseas suppliers and shipping lines to coordinate shipment schedules and resolve issues
- Investigate and handle shipping and trucking claims, ensuring timely resolution and accurate data entry
- Draft clear and professional emails to Customs for enquiries or to address discrepancies
- Collaborate with sales, suppliers, shipping companies, and hauliers to facilitate smooth logistics operations
- Work independently to learn and adapt to evolving customs and shipping procedures
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support business needs
Required competencies and certifications
- Possess Certificate for Singapore Customs Competency Test for Declarants (mandatory for customs declaration duties)
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in customs declaration and shipping operations, with demonstrated ability to apply knowledge on the job
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel to manage shipping data and documentation effectively
- Strong interpersonal skills to liaise with multiple stakeholders including sales teams, suppliers, and logistics partners
- Ability to write professional emails addressing customs enquiries and shipping claims
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Ability to communicate in Mandarin and write Chinese to facilitate liaison with Chinese suppliers (linked to business communication needs)
- Some accounting knowledge to support financial aspects of shipping claims and documentation
- Minimum education level of Polytechnic diploma or “A” levels
Other Information
- Working Hours: 9am to 6pm, Monday to Friday, 5-day week
- Salary Range: $3,200.00 to $3,500.00 depending on qualification and working experience
