The School of Social Sciences at NTU Singapore invites applications for an Associate Professor (Tenured) position in Psychology.
Psychology is one of the four major programmes in the School of Social Sciences, together with Sociology, Economics, and Public Policy and Global Affairs. We attract excellent students to our BSocSci, Master and PhD degree programmes and provide them with interdisciplinary training, as well as practical knowledge, emotional competence, and skill sets necessary to dissect and address various global challenges through the lens of biological, clinical, cognitive, cultural, developmental, evolutionary, forensic, health, industrial, neurological, occupational, and social psychology.
We seek to appoint an outstanding, collegial scholar-practitioner as an Associate Professor (Tenured) in Clinical Neuropsychology. The successful candidate will be expected to provide academic leadership in research, teaching, clinical training, and service, and to strengthen the University’s profile in clinical psychology and clinical neuropsychology.
This appointment is intended for a candidate of established standing who can contribute substantively to the development of the Psychology discipline and, in particular, to teaching and professional training within a clinical psychology programme. We are especially interested in candidates with a strong combination of clinical neuropsychology practice experience, recognised research excellence, successful grantsmanship, postgraduate supervision, and programme-level academic leadership.
The successful candidate will hold a doctoral qualification in Clinical Psychology, Clinical Neuropsychology, Neuropsychology, or a closely related discipline, and will demonstrate a sustained record of achievement appropriate to appointment with tenure at the Associate Professor level. This should include a strong body of peer-reviewed publications, evidence of scholarly impact and international visibility, success in securing and contributing to externally funded research, and a clear research trajectory with translational or clinically relevant significance.
Key Responsibilities
The appointee will be expected to contribute to the teaching of undergraduate and postgraduate core modules in psychology and clinical psychology, as well as specialist teaching in areas such as clinicalneuro psychology, psychological assessment, adult psychopathology, brain–behaviour relationships, neurocognitive disorders, rehabilitation, and related applied domains. The role also includes supervision of honours, master’s, and doctoral students; contribution to clinical placements and professional training; and participation in curriculum development, accreditation, and programme administration.
In addition, the successful candidate should demonstrate the capacity to contribute to the University through academic citizenship and leadership, including committee service, mentoring, interdisciplinary collaboration, and strengthening external partnerships with clinical, health, community, and industry stakeholders. Relevant clinical practice, professional registration, and experience working across academic and healthcare settings will be highly valued.
Requirements
· A PhD, DPhil, or equivalent doctoral qualification in Clinical Psychology, Clinical Neuropsychology, Neuropsychology, or a closely related field.
· Formal training and substantive expertise in clinical neuropsychology, with a profile appropriate to appointment at the tenured Associate Professor level.
· A sustained and internationally recognised record of research excellence, including a strong publication record in high-quality peer-reviewed journals and evidence of scholarly impact.
· Demonstrated track record in research grantsmanship, including success in securing, leading, contributing to, or managing externally funded research.
· Substantial experience in teaching and course leadership at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, especially in clinical psychology and/or clinical neuropsychology.
· Demonstrated experience in supervision and training, including supervision of postgraduate students, clinical trainees, or early-career staff.
· Significant clinical or professional practice experience relevant to clinical neuropsychology, including assessment, diagnosis, intervention, rehabilitation, or related applied work.
· Evidence of capacity for academic leadership and service, including programme administration, curriculum development, accreditation, committee work, or professional engagement.
· Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collegial skills, together with a strong commitment to student development, professional training, and institutional service.
· Professional registration, licensure, board certification, or eligibility for registration as a clinical psychologist and/or clinical neuropsychologist, as applicable.
· Experience in clinical psychology programme leadership, including roles such as programme director, deputy director, curriculum coordinator, admissions lead, or clinical placement coordinator.
· Experience in clinical supervision and professional training within accredited or accreditation-oriented clinical psychology programmes.
· A research profile with strong clinical, translational, or interdisciplinary relevance, including collaboration with hospitals, health systems, or community agencies.
· Evidence of national or international professional standing, such as fellowship in relevant professional bodies, invited leadership roles, editorial or reviewing activity, or recognised external impact.
· Experience building links across academic, clinical, industry, and professional sectors.
· Expertise that strengthens the department’s strategic priorities in areas such as neuropsychological assessment, neurocognitive disorders, ageing, brain injury, psychiatric neuropsychology, cognitive health, rehabilitation, or digital mental health.
