Position Overview
We are seeking a highly capable and execution-oriented Head of Capital Markets to lead the company’s capital markets, financing, and strategic initiatives. This role will play a critical part in driving the company’s IPO process, private fundraising activities, and strategic partnership efforts.
The ideal candidate should bring a strong combination of investment banking experience and primary market experience, with deep understanding of capital markets, transaction execution, and strategic finance. This person should be comfortable operating in a fast-paced, founder-led environment and working closely with senior management, shareholders, financial institutions, legal advisors, and strategic partners.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead and execute the company’s IPO preparation and listing process, including coordination with investment banks, legal counsel, auditors, regulators, and internal stakeholders.
• Drive the company’s private financing activities, including equity fundraising, strategic financing, and other capital formation initiatives.
• Support and manage the company’s relationships with investment banks, institutional investors, private equity/venture capital funds, strategic investors, and other capital providers.
• Help shape and articulate the company’s equity story, capital markets positioning, and investor communication strategy.
• Lead the preparation of key transaction materials, including investor presentations, financing materials, management briefing materials, Q&A documents, and due diligence materials.
• Coordinate cross-functional workstreams across finance, legal, business, and external advisors to ensure efficient execution of IPO and financing processes.
• Support the company’s strategic projects, including evaluation and execution of strategic partnerships, investments, and other corporate development opportunities.
• Monitor market dynamics, comparable company developments, investor sentiment, and relevant regulatory developments to inform financing and listing strategy.
• Work closely with the CEO and senior leadership team on capital planning, transaction strategy, and other high-priority corporate matters.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree or above in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business, or a related field; MBA or other advanced degree is a plus.
• 8+ years of relevant experience in investment banking, private equity, venture capital, growth equity, or capital markets-related roles.
Must have:
• solid experience in investment banking / IPO / capital markets execution, and
• meaningful experience in primary market investing, fundraising, or strategic financing.
• Strong understanding of IPO processes, equity financing, transaction structuring, investor engagement, and capital markets dynamics.
• Proven experience leading or playing a core role in complex transactions involving multiple internal and external stakeholders.
• Strong financial analysis, strategic thinking, communication, and project management skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage ambiguity, and drive execution in a high-growth environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; Mandarin is a strong plus.
• Experience in technology, AI, internet, or other high-growth sectors is highly preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
• Direct experience with Hong Kong IPOs, US IPOs, or other major listing processes.
• Familiarity with cross-border transaction structures and financing involving international investors.
• Prior experience working in or with a high-growth technology company.
• Strong network across banks, funds, strategic investors, and capital markets participants in Asia and globally.
