About the role
Metalcool Pte Ltd is looking for an experienced CNC Tool Grinding Programmer to support our precision cutting tool manufacturing operations. This is a dedicated technical role focused on programming, geometry development, simulation, process optimisation and first article validation for CNC tool grinding applications.
The role is suited for candidates with hands-on experience in ANCA and/or Walter tool grinding systems, and who are confident in developing and refining programmes for end mills, drills and form tools.
Key Responsibilities
- Create, modify and optimise CNC tool grinding programmes for carbide and related cutting tools
- Develop tool geometry and grinding strategies based on technical requirements and application needs
- Use simulation software to verify programmes before production release
- Conduct first article validation and make programme adjustments to achieve required geometry and performance
- Improve cycle time, consistency and process capability through programme and process optimisation
- Support troubleshooting of grinding-related technical issues
- Work closely with engineering and production teams to ensure accurate programme transfer to manufacturing
- Maintain proper programme records, setup data and technical documentation
Requirements
- Relevant experience in CNC tool grinding programming
- Hands-on experience with ANCA ToolRoom / iGrind / CIM3D and/or Walter HELITRONIC systems
- Good understanding of cutting tool geometry, grinding processes and tool design principles
- Experience in programming for end mills, drills and/or form tools
- Ability to carry out simulation, first article review and process refinement independently
- Able to interpret technical drawings and tool requirements accurately
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in carbide cutting tool manufacturing
- Familiarity with process development and continuous improvement in a production environment
- Ability to support special tool development or customised tool geometry
