Role Overview

We are looking for a highly analytical, detail-oriented Associate Manager or Manager of Payment and Card Operations, to oversee our day-to-day transaction processing, client ledger management, and card program operations.

In this role, you will be the core custodian of how money moves through our ecosystem—balancing available liquidity, payment rail operating hours, settlement speeds, and costs to ensure seamless user experiences.

Depending on your experience level, you will either step directly into or grow into a people-management role - leading a lean on site and cross border operations team, tasked with handling transaction volumes, maintaining strict SLAs, triaging failed payments, and executing complex multi-layer reconciliations.

Additionally, you will partner closely with Product and Engineering to co-design automated payment routing flows and scalable ledger mechanisms.

Key Responsibilities

1. Payment Operations & Liquidity Management

Daily Execution: Oversee day-to-day deposit and payout processing, ensuring all transactions align with available liquidity, specific payment rail operating hours, settlement speeds, and cost-efficiency.

Client Ledger Management: Own the accuracy and integrity of client ledgers for all deposit and payout actions.

Payment Triage & Exceptions: Act as the primary escalation point for failed payments; proactively collaborate with banking partners and Payment Service Providers (PSPs) to trace, refund, or re-process stuck funds.

Team Leadership & SLAs: Manage and coach the payment operations team, shift schedules, and tracking performance against transaction volumes, processing speed, and strict operational SLAs.

Automation & Innovation: Partner with Product and Engineering teams to co-design and implement automated payment routing flows and system mechanisms.

2. Card Operations & Reconciliation

Ledger Oversight: Manage end-to-end ledger movements covering card top-ups, user expenditures, and specialized card promotion ledgers.

Multi-Layer Reconciliation: Establish and oversee robust daily reconciliation processes: internal ledger matching, as well as internal ledgers vs. card provider ledgers to identify and resolve discrepancies immediately.

Dispute & Chargeback Management: Direct the card dispute workflow, including chargeback filing, tracking, and dispute validation.

Flow Design & Optimization: Collaboratively design optimized card payment flows while managing the team on daily card reconciliation, chargeback processing, and refund execution.

Required Qualifications & Skills

Experience: 3–5+ years of hands-on experience in payment operations, card operations, or financial clearing, with previous experience leading/mentoring junior team members or managing a team.

Ledger & Recon Expertise: Proven experience managing complex financial ledgers (including promotional/incentive ledgers) and running multi-party ledger reconciliations.

Payment Rail Literacy: Deep understanding of various payment rails, including their specific operating windows, clearing times, settlement speeds, and cost structures.

Vendor & Bank Relations: Strong track record of working with PSPs, clearing networks, and banking partners to trace funds and triage system exceptions.

Analytical Capabilities: High proficiency in data analysis (SQL knowledge is heavily preferred) to monitor SLAs, trace transaction anomalies, and optimize routing.

About the Role

About the Role

Metacomp is building out its Payment and Card Operations function as a core capability to support the full lifecycle of client money movement across digital assets and fiat currencies. As an Associate / Senior Associate in Payment & Card Operations, you will be at the heart of Metacomp's client payment flows — owning fund movement across deposits, payments, trading, and withdrawals, while supporting the launch and daily operations of Metacomp's card product.

This is a high-ownership role in a lean team where your work directly impacts client experience. You will work closely with Relationship Managers, Account Managers, and the broader Operations team in a fast-paced, client-sensitive environment where accuracy, speed, and clear communication are critical.

What You Will Do

Payment Operations

• Process and monitor inbound client deposits across fiat (wire transfers to accounts, virtual accounts, and sub-accounts) and (crypto to client wallets)
• Manually sight and confirm inbound fiat deposits against client instructions and credit client balances on the Metacomp Internal ledgers
• Receive, validate, plan the flow, and execute outbound withdrawal and payment instructions to first-party and third-party bank accounts and wallets
• Act as maker or checker on all outbound payment instructions within the banking platform and Metacomp's internal system ledgers
• Coordinate in real time with Relationship Managers and Account Managers on the status of deposits, payments, and withdrawals — including managing escalations
• Handle PSP Request for Information (RFI) responses for flagged or queried payment transactions
• Support the whitelisting of third-party sender and beneficiary accounts in accordance with compliance requirements

Card Operations

• Support the daily operations of Metacomp's card product from launch
• Process card issuance and card freeze requests on behalf of clients
• Monitor card issuer prefund account balances and execute top-ups to prevent card declines
• Manage the end-to-end chargeback lifecycle: receiving dispute notifications, submitting RFI responses, tracking dispute status, and processing successful chargeback refunds
• Process advance chargeback refunds for key clients in accordance with agreed commercial arrangements
• Liaise with the card issuer/BIN sponsor/card network provider on operational queries, settlement discrepancies, and dispute matters

Reconciliation Operations

• Perform daily transaction-level reconciliation of all outbound transactions from Metcomps internal system, against various underlying bank ledgers, identifying and resolving breaks on a same-day basis
• Perform daily transaction-level reconciliation of client card transactions in Metacomp's internal system ledger against card issuer settlement files
• As Metacomp transitions to principal card issuer status, expanded recon scope to include transaction-level reconciliation against payment networks (Mastercard / Visa)
• Maintain accurate recon records and produce daily recon reports for sign-off
• Escalate unresolved breaks to the relevant internal teams and track through to resolution

What We Are Looking For

Experience

• 1–3 years of experience in payment operations, settlements, card operations, financial operations, accounting, or finance treasury in a bank, fintech, payments company, digital asset firm, or corporate treasury function
• Candidates with an accounting or finance treasury background are strongly encouraged to apply — a solid grasp of debits, credits, and fund flows is directly applicable to this role
• Hands-on experience processing payment instructions and managing payment lifecycles — experience with both fiat and crypto payment flows is a strong advantage
• Experience performing transaction-level reconciliation, including break identification and resolution
• Experience with card operations — including chargeback management, card issuance, or prefund management — is a strong plus
• Prior exposure to maker-checker or dual-authorisation payment controls in a banking or regulated environment
• Experience working in a client-facing or RM-facing operations role, with a track record of handling escalations professionally and under time pressure

• Strong understanding of end-to-end payment and fund flow — able to trace a transaction from instruction through to settlement and identify where and why a break has occurred

• High attention to detail — able to process and reconcile large volumes of transactions accurately with minimal errors
• Strong organisational skills — able to manage multiple open items across deposits, payments, and card ops simultaneously without dropping the ball
• Clear and professional communicator — comfortable liaising directly with Relationship Managers, Account Managers, and external counterparties (banks, card issuers) in a fast-moving environment
• Comfortable with ambiguity and building processes from scratch — this is a growing function and you will be expected to help define how things are done, not just follow a playbook
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets for reconciliation work (familiarity with SQL or any basic programming language is a plus)
• Familiarity with payment platforms, banking portals, or treasury management systems is an advantage
• Mandarin proficiency (spoken and written) is strongly preferred — RMs and Account Managers frequently communicate in Mandarin and real-time coordination is essential

• MAS regulatory knowledge or prior experience in a regulated financial institution is advantageous but not required

Partner & Stakeholder Leadership

1. Act as the primary product owner for external payment partners.

2. Work closely with Engineering, Compliance, Ops, and Finance to deliver end-to-end solutions.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 1+ years of experience in Product Management within payments, fintech, banking, or financial services.
• Strong hands-on experience with payment products such as cross-border payments, FX, wallets, or card-related flows.
• Strong understanding of payment architectures, APIs, and system integrations.
• Ability to work closely with engineers and make informed technical trade-offs.
• Experience operating in regulated environments (e.g. MAS, AML/CFT frameworks).
• Familiarity with Agile / Scrum development methodologies.
• Strong ownership mindset with the ability to operate independently.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Structured, data-driven decision-making with attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 5+ years of product experience, with strong exposure to payments or fintech.
• Strong understanding of payment flows, settlement, FX, and operational dependencies..
• Experience with cross-border payments, FX liquidity, or treasury systems.
• Exposure to blockchain, digital payment tokens, or crypto-related payment flows.
• Experience scaling payment platforms across multiple geographies.
• Prior experience working directly with banks or global PSPs.

Role Overview

We are looking for a detail-oriented Compliance Analyst (Payments) to support MetaComp’s regulatory and financial crime compliance efforts across our fiat payment operations.

This is a junior role ideal for candidates starting their career in compliance, offering hands-on exposure to transaction monitoring, AML/CFT controls, and payment investigations within a regulated fintech and digital asset environment.

You will work closely with Compliance, Operations, and Product teams to ensure that all payment activities adhere to internal policies and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Transaction Monitoring & Review

• Monitor payment transactions for suspicious or unusual activity

  Perform alert reviews and escalate potential AML/CFT risks

  Investigate flagged transactions across fiat payment flows

• KYC / Due Diligence Support

• Assist in onboarding checks, including KYC and customer due diligence (CDD)

  Conduct periodic reviews and refresh of client profiles

  Support enhanced due diligence (EDD) where required

• Payments Compliance & Controls

• Ensure payment transactions comply with internal policies and regulatory requirements

  Support sanctions screening and name screening processes

  Assist in identifying control gaps and process improvements

• Investigations & Case Handling

• Support investigation of suspicious transactions and payment issues

  Prepare clear and concise case notes and documentation

  Assist in drafting internal reports and regulatory filings where required

• Regulatory & Internal Support

• Stay updated on relevant regulations (e.g. MAS guidelines, AML/CFT requirements)

  Support audits, compliance reviews, and internal assessments

  Work cross-functionally with Operations, Product, and Risk teams

  Minimum Requirements

• 1 years of experience in compliance, AML, payments, or financial services 
• Basic understanding of AML/CFT, KYC, and transaction monitoring concepts
• Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to handle sensitive information with integrity and confidentiality
• Proactive attitude and willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment
