About MPCSL
Marine Parade Community Space Ltd is a registered charity and IPC serving the Marine Parade community. As part of its work, MPCSL's WeCare Team looks after vulnerable residents in the constituency by coordinating social service delivery in a resident-centric manner.
Job Scope
The Community Developer has three main roles within the community:
1. To be the last mile social service delivery
- Receive cases from various community referrals and attend to walk-ins;
- Conduct assessment through home visits or in-person sessions to establish needs of the resident and link resident up to relevant services/ resources;
- Maintain a database to ensure continuity of care;
- Attend to all enquiries raised by the community, especially those related to social issues and well-being of the residents;
- Follow-up on cases with multiple stakeholders and ensure coordination of care;
- Handle cases which require case management but are reluctant to approach formal systems for assistance; main aims of such interim case management is to attend to any urgent requests from the resident and to triage the case back to formal systems for long-term care and follow-up;
- Complete administrative work timely such as application for interim financial assistance, food rations, and programmes administered by other Social Service Agencies as needed;
2. To develop community relationships
- Develop and maintain close working relationships with Social Service Agencies and other community partners;
- Be up to date on the resources in Marine Parade, as well as the latest government initiatives and schemes;
- Work with community partners and government agencies to identify resource gaps in the community and implement solutions to these gaps;
- Nurture formal and informal help-giving in the community, developing a strong sense of community spirit amongst community partners and residents;
- Plan and execute community development events;
3. Programmes
- To carry out and further develop current initiatives such as Marine Parade Gives Back!, Stakeholders’ Networking Event, etc.
- To develop Marine Parade as a Dementia Friendly Community.
Candidate Competencies
1. Technical Competencies
- Minimally Diploma holder in any discipline, preferably in Social Sciences
- Fluent and well-spoken in English and Mandarin Chinese/ Bahasa Melayu (to communicate with residents who cannot speak English)
- Fresh graduates are welcome to apply
- Experience with programme planning and execution is advantageous

- Demonstrated ability to plan, drive, and execute events and programmes independently;
