Job Summary

Perform inspection, troubleshooting, testing, and maintenance of heavy vehicles and trailers to ensure compliance with regulations and company standards.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, troubleshoot, and test heavy vehicles including lorries, trucks, and trailers to identify faults and ensure operational safety
• Perform regular maintenance and repair work on vehicles and trailers to maintain optimal performance
• Verify that all repair works comply with regulatory codes, specifications, and company guidelines to ensure legal and safety standards
• Maintain a clean and safe workplace by adhering to high standards of housekeeping and safety protocols
• Work independently to complete assigned tasks efficiently while collaborating with team members when needed
• Take responsibility and accountability for assigned duties, demonstrating initiative and a positive attitude towards learning
• Identify and suggest improvements to maintenance processes and vehicle performance under pressure

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Possess a forklift license (advantageous but not essential)
• 1-2 years of relevant experience in automotive service and repair

The job duties of the transport operations staff entails planning, co-ordinating the transport requirements of our customers.

Common tasks carried out by the candidate will include:

1. Answering phone calls from customers for their transport requirements
2. Planning and co-ordainting driver movements
3. Ensuring that all operations are carried out in accordance to Singapore Transport Regulations
4. Liaising and negotiating with different stakeholders including customers, LTA and various transport operators
5. Minimising disruption and resolving any unscheduled delays, having to make decisions in difficult situations
6. Meeting customers to deal with complaints and areas of concern
7. Using IT systems: GPS, Order Management Systems to manage driver and order movements
8. Monitor vehicle insurance, road tax and servicing dates

Candidate will have to perform adminstative tasks onto of daily tasks.

1. Able to converse in English and Chinese as drivers are mainly from China. Ability to speak Malay will be a bonus to communicate with the malaysian mechanic
2. Organised and meticulous
3. Ability to multi task
4. Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
5. Good understanding of the roads in Singapore
