Wheathead is a small-batch bakery with a focus on quality baked goods and seasonal produce. We put out pastries, sandwiches, pies, as well as soups and salads when we can. Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Full-Time General Manager to lead operations, build our brand, and foster community engagement in a small, dynamic bakery environment.
Responsibilities
Lead daily FOH operations, ensuring high product quality, staff training, and excellent customer satisfaction
Manage HR functions including payroll and Front-of-House hiring to maintain a skilled and motivated team
Oversee internal accounting tasks such as processing invoices and managing profit and loss statements
Identify and implement improvements to operational and backend processes for business efficiency
Train and supervise Front-of-House staff to maintain service standards and team performance, should the need arise
Enforce compliance with company SOPs, government regulations, food safety, hygiene standards, and quality control
Manage inventory and plan Front-of-House stock to ensure smooth operations
Respond to guest requests and resolve complaints tactfully
Work independently and collaboratively to lead, motivate, and manage team members effectively
Demonstrate initiative, punctuality, diligence, and adaptability to meet the demands of a fast-paced start-up environment
Commit to a minimum one-year tenure to support business continuity and growth
Preferred competencies and qualifications
Minimum 2 years’ experience as a General Manager in F&B
At least 3 years’ experience in Front-of-House customer service in a fast-paced F&B setting
Comfortable working in a start-up environment with exposure to multiple business areas including HR, marketing, and accounting
Strong work ethic and organizational skills, with high attention to detail
Ability to manage people and lead teams through challenges)
