Role Overview
The Accounts Executive is responsible for managing the full set of accounts, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting, timely processing of transactions, and compliance with company policies and statutory requirements. He/ she is supporting the Finance Manager in overseeing accounting operations. This role requires strong technical accounting knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Handle full set of accounts (AP, AR, GL) independently
- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations and ensure accuracy of financial transactions
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Perform month-end and year-end closing, including journal entries and reconciliations
- Review work performed by junior accounts staff (if applicable)
- Prepare GST returns and ensure compliance with Singapore regulatory requirements
- Liaise with external auditors, tax agents, bankers, and corporate secretary
- Monitor cash flow and manage treasury functions
- Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Ensure proper internal controls, processes, and accounting policies are in place
- Support audit schedules and statutory reporting requirements
- Identify process improvements and enhance accounting workflows
Qualifications/ Skills Requirements:
Education: Degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent professional qualification (e.g., ACCA, CPA)
Experience: Minimum 3–5 years of relevant accounting experience in handling full set of accounts. Prior experience in audit or accounting firms is an advantage.
Languages: Fluent in English; others additional languages area plus.
Knowledge& Skills:
- Strong knowledge of full set accounts and financial reporting
- Familiar with Singapore Financial Reporting Standards (SFRS) and GST regulations
- Hands-on experience with accounting software (e.g., Xero, MYOB, SAP, QuickBooks)
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- High-level of integrity and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines
- Knowledge of Singapore GST and basic tax compliance
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good organizational and time management skills
