Key Responsibilities

This role is responsible for managing all tax compliance and reporting matters for the company's overseas operations. Key duties include:

• Tax Compliance & Filing: Oversee the preparation and timely submission of corporate income tax, sales tax, withholding tax, and other statutory filings, ensuring full compliance with local regulations.
• B2C VAT/GST Compliance: Monitor B2C indirect tax legislation across jurisdictions; assess revenue thresholds and nexus triggers, and upon reaching applicable thresholds, manage VAT registration, periodic filings, and ongoing compliance obligations in each relevant market.
• Tax Authority Engagement: Serve as the primary point of contact for tax audits, inquiries, and examinations by local tax authority; manage responses, documentation, and dispute resolution processes.
• Regulatory Monitoring & Impact Assessment: Continuously track changes in local tax legislation, treaties, and enforcement practices across relevant jurisdictions; assess their impact on the company's business operations and provide actionable recommendations for structural or operational adjustments.
• Transfer Pricing & Cross-Border Structuring: Support transfer pricing documentation and compliance; advise on intercompany transaction arrangements to ensure arm's-length standards are met.
• Tax Planning & Advisory: Identify tax optimization opportunities within the legal framework, including incentive schemes (e.g., Singapore's EDB policy), and deliver targeted analysis reports to management.
• Collaboration: Work closely with finance, legal, and business teams, as well as external tax advisors and auditors, to ensure tax considerations are integrated into business decisions.

Qualifications:

Job Summary

As Director of Strategy & Investment, you will lead strategic planning, market analysis, and investment activities to drive growth in global gaming markets. Collaborate with senior leadership to shape competitive strategies and execute high-impact transactions.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of annual and multi-year strategic plans by translating market insights into clear priorities and actionable roadmaps
• Analyze global gaming industry trends, competitive landscape, emerging technologies (AI, cloud gaming, live services), and regulatory changes to inform senior leadership decisions
• Prepare executive-level strategy presentations, market analyses, and competitive benchmarking reports for leadership team
• Facilitate strategic planning across business units to align priorities, allocate resources, and set key milestones
• Identify and prioritize strategic investment and M&A opportunities aligned with company growth objectives, managing processes from screening to investment committee presentations
• Lead due diligence workstreams including commercial, financial, and operational assessments, coordinating with legal, finance, and external advisors
• Support post-deal integration planning and monitor portfolio investments’ strategic and financial performance
• Identify and develop strategic partnerships such as IP licensing, co-development, publishing deals, and platform collaborations
• Advise product and commercial teams on strategy to connect long-term goals with daily business decisions
• Manage relationships with investors, partners, industry bodies, and government stakeholders to support business development

Required competencies and certifications

• Proven skills in strategic analysis, financial modelling, and investment evaluation within gaming, technology, or media industries
• Solid knowledge of M&A transaction processes, deal structures, and due diligence workflows
• Excellent communication and storytelling skills to distill complex data into clear, executive-ready insights and recommendations
• Strong project management skills to lead multiple workstreams independently and meet deadlines
• Collaborative mindset with ability to work effectively across functions and with senior stakeholders

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• MBA or Finance degree preferred
• Experience in strategy consulting, investment banking, corporate development, or private equity/venture capital
• Direct exposure to gaming industry dynamics including game development cycles, monetisation models, and live service operations
• Experience supporting cross-border transactions in Southeast Asia or other high-growth markets
• Prior experience at McKinsey, BCG, Bain, or a bulge-bracket investment bank
• Exposure to AI, cloud gaming, or emerging technology investment theses
