• Assists nursing team to problem solve if there are any patient/ clinical/or operational issues and seeks appropriate assistance/escalates to Senior Nurse Manager (SNM)/Nurse Manager (NM).
• Delivers patient and/or family education on disease progression, prevention and rehabilitation and assesses understanding of condition to enable participation in self-health care management.
• Assists department supervisors to minimise use of resources keeping expenses within approved budget.
• Reviews infection control practices, monitors compliance and identifies areas of improvement.
• Plans and implements in-services for nurses and students to extend skills and knowledge to maintain safe and quality nursing care.
• Supports new initiates, leads changes implemented by Nursing in collaboration with other stakeholders.
• Reviews clinical performance of new nurses and nursing students and provides constructive feedback and documentation to appropriate personnel.
• Acts as a competent clinical resource and supervises the usage of medical equipment; Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and other electronic systems; clinical workflow and processes; co-leading in clinical emergencies or crisis situations.

Job Requirements:

• Min Degree in Nursing w min 5 yrs of relevant perm inpatient & senior nursing experience, preferably in gerontology/palliative care w Advanced / Specialist Diploma in Geriatric / Community Nursing & Long-Term Care settings.
