Job Duties And Responsibilities
Camphora is a collective that provides integrated flora, fauna and arboriculture baseline data to inform design intent and formulate solutions for ecological conservation.
We are seeking to hire an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual who has a passion for biodiversity and enjoys working in the outdoors.
You will mainly be assisting in the following (but not limited to):
- Planning and execution of marine surveys, such as intertidal quadrat sampling, subtidal coral, fish, and invertebrate surveys,and coral transplantation
- Processing of survey data, including species identification, data entry, management, and analysis
- Report writing, including integration of baseline information into biodiversity impact assessments and development of recommendations
- Conduct inspections at development sites
- Manage project deliverables
- Attend and prepare for meetings
Job Requirements
- Diploma/Degree in Environmental Science or related fields, with a background in marine ecology
- At least 2 years of working experience in a related field
- Passionate about biodiversity conservation
- Responsible, independent, and possess strong interpersonal skills
- Physically fit, with diving experience, and comfortable being outdoors and in the forest and marine environments
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment and meet project deadlines
- Training will be provided but familiarity with species identification of marine/intertidal fauna will be an advantage
- Knowledge in GIS and/or data analytics will also be an advantage
Appointment may be full-time or on a 1-year contract basis. Salary will be commensurate with qualification and experience.
