Job Summary

Arkema Singapore is seeking an experienced Production Superintendent to lead production operations within our PA11 unit at our Jurong Island manufacturing site. Reporting to the Production Manager, the role is responsible for ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations while leading Shift Leaders, Process Technicians, and Material Handlers to achieve production and HSEQ objectives.

Responsibilities

• Lead and direct Shift Leaders, Process Technicians, Lead Material Handler, and Material Handlers to ensure smooth and efficient plant operations that meet production goals
• Achieve production targets while maintaining product quality standards and controlling operational costs
• Analyze and troubleshoot operational issues to optimize unit performance and enhance process reliability
• Coordinate maintenance activities with the Maintenance Coordinator to maximize plant availability and minimize downtime
• Manage manpower deployment, develop work schedules, and implement training plans to maintain operational readiness
• Support competency development and career progression for operations and material handling teams through coaching and training initiatives
• Promote and enforce a strong HSEQ culture ensuring compliance with Arkema's Integrated Management System and safety standards
• Participate actively in emergency response efforts, conduct incident investigations, and lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety and efficiency

Required competencies and certifications

• Degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or a related discipline
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in chemical, petrochemical, or process manufacturing industries

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Practical knowledge of chemical manufacturing operations and process engineering to support operational excellence
• Familiarity with hazardous chemical processes and risk management to ensure safe plant operations
• Experience in production management and maintenance coordination to drive operational efficiency
• Strong leadership and people management skills to effectively lead diverse teams
• Good problem-solving and organizational abilities to address operational challenges proactively
• Effective communication and decision-making capabilities to facilitate collaboration and timely resolutions
• Proactive, results-oriented, and self-motivated approach to meet production and safety goals

·       Involve in the monthly financial closing process and prepare analytical reports for operating results, standard/actual costing analysis and PPV analysis for both trading and manufacturing plant activities.

·       Prepare monthly reports which include sales & margin, sales price analysis, fixed costs and logistics cost, working capital and some BU reports. Highlight abnormal price deviations to respective BUs to avoid errors.

·       Prepare the P&L by BU and highlight to FP&A team regarding deviations that require actions to mitigate transfer-pricing targets.

·       Be involved in the annual internal control audits.

·       Be involved in the annual stock take exercise.

·       Assist in manufacturing plant related topics and analytical activities.

·       Assist in the annual budget exercise by establishing schedules, collecting, analysing and consolidating financial data.

·       To handle intercompany service agreements and related invoicing requirements.

·       To monitor and follow-up on slow moving inventories and AR aging.

·       To monitor on Capex spend vs. budget for minor investments.

·       Compile and submit annual statutory surveys and other related.

·       Prepare and submit claims and follow-up the correspondences and disbursements.

·       Be involved in the external audit and preparations for queries.

·       Assist in transfer-pricing documentation, insurance renewal and related matters.

·       Provide support to the day-to-day operations in the area of administrative or ad-hoc requests related to finance.
