Overview

Key Responsibilities

BIOTECHNOLOGIST – DOWNSTREAM (COMMISSIONING)

Supporting the commissioning of downstream process equipment, suited to a biotechnologist who can step in quickly and contribute to commissioning activities on a shift pattern.

Key Responsibilities

• Support commissioning of downstream process equipment (e.g. purification, chromatography, filtration, TFF)
• Perform commissioning checks, documentation, and troubleshooting activities
• Work in accordance with GMP standards across shift operations
• Collaborate closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, and QA teams

Requirements

• Degree in Biotechnology, Bioprocessing, Life Sciences, or a related field
• Experience in downstream bioprocessing operations
• Exposure to equipment commissioning, or strong process knowledge with the ability to support commissioning activities

Key Responsibilities

• Execute commissioning and startup activities for biotech manufacturing equipment, process systems, and utilities.
• Perform testing, troubleshooting, loop checks, and functional verification of systems before qualification and validation.
• Support operation and optimization of process equipment including:Temperature Control Units (TCU)Pressure Control SystemsFlow Control SystemsCIP (Clean-in-Place) SystemsSIP (Steam-in-Place) Systems
• Work closely with Automation, CQV, Engineering, and Operations teams during plant startup and commissioning phases.
• Review commissioning documentation, test protocols, punch lists, and system turnover packages.
• Support DeltaV-controlled process systems and coordinate with automation teams on commissioning activities.
• Investigate and resolve commissioning issues to ensure systems meet operational requirements.

Requirements

• Experience in biotech, biopharmaceutical, or pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities.
• Hands-on commissioning, startup, or CQV experience with process equipment and utilities.
• Familiarity with DeltaV DCS operations.
• Good understanding of process control systems (temperature, pressure, flow control).
• Experience with CIP/SIP operations and troubleshooting.
• Able to work rotating 12-hour shifts (day/night) in a 24/7 manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support commissioning, qualification, and validation (CQV) activities for equipment, utilities, and facilities within a GMP-regulated environment.
• Generate, review, and execute CQV lifecycle documents, including Commissioning Protocols, IQ, OQ, and related qualification reports.
• Perform field execution activities, protocol testing, documentation review, and discrepancy resolution.
• Coordinate with engineering, operations, quality, and project teams to ensure timely project delivery.
• Ensure all qualification activities comply with GMP, safety, and company procedures.
• Support project commissioning, start-up, and validation activities during critical project phases.

Requirements:

• Degree in Engineering or related discipline.
• 2–3 years of CQV, Validation, or Commissioning experience within pharmaceutical, biotech, or life sciences industries.
• Strong experience in CQV lifecycle document generation and execution.
• Familiar with GMP documentation practices, IQ/OQ protocols, deviations, and qualification reports.
• Able to work overtime and weekends, including short-notice support during project execution and commissioning phases.
• Good communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced project environment.

Position Overview

The Lead Automation Engineer will be responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of DeltaV automation systems within pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities projects. This role requires a deep understanding of automation technologies and their application in the pharmaceutical industry, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards while optimizing production processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Automation System Management:Design, develop, and implement DeltaV automation systems to enhance manufacturing efficiency and quality.
  Oversee the maintenance and troubleshooting of DeltaV systems, ensuring minimal downtime and maximal reliability.
  
• Project Leadership:Lead automation projects from conception through implementation, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
  Coordinate with cross-functional teams including process engineers, quality assurance, and IT to ensure seamless integration of DeltaV solutions.
  
• Regulatory Compliance:Ensure all automation systems comply with relevant regulatory standards (e.g., FDA, EMA, HSA) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  Prepare and maintain documentation for validation and compliance audits.
  
• Technical Expertise:Stay updated with the latest advancements in DeltaV and other automation technologies and their applications in the pharmaceutical industry.
  Provide technical guidance and training to the engineering team and production staff.
  
• Continuous Improvement:Identify opportunities for process improvements through automation and implement changes to enhance productivity and quality.
  Analyze system performance and make data-driven recommendations for optimization.
  

Qualifications

• Education:Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  
• Experience:Minimum of 6 years of experience in automation engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership role within the pharmaceutical industry.
  Proven experience in designing and managing DeltaV automation systems in a GMP-regulated environment.

About the Role

We are looking for a motivated Junior Chemical Technician to join support a manufacturing team at a leading pharmaceutical facility in Singapore. This is a hands-on, production-floor role where you will support daily chemical manufacturing operations and contribute directly to the delivery of high-quality API products.

This role is open to fresh graduates and candidates with limited experience. Full training will be provided on-site, and there are genuine opportunities to grow technically and professionally within the team.

Key Responsibilities

Production operations:

• Operate process equipment including reactors, centrifuges, filters, dryers and mills under supervision
• Weigh and dispense raw materials, solvents and reagents accurately according to batch records
• Monitor and record process parameters such as temperature, pressure, pH and yield during batch execution
• Perform cleaning and sterilisation of equipment between batches in accordance with SOPs
• Support changeover and line clearance activities between production runs
• Assist in sampling for in-process controls and liaise with QC lab for testing

GMP and documentation:

• Complete batch manufacturing records (BMRs) accurately and in real time
• Follow standard operating procedures at all times and flag deviations immediately
• Maintain a clean and compliant working environment in line with GMP requirements
• Participate in investigations for process deviations, out-of-spec results and near misses
• Support internal audits and regulatory inspections as required
• Handle and dispose of solvents and chemical waste safely in line with EHS requirements

We are looking to hire talents who lead the software architecture, configuration, and computerized system validation (CSV) of site-wide Emerson DeltaV DCS and PLC systems. This role is critical for ensuring that automated software logic meets both functional process requirements and stringent global regulatory standards (GAMP 5, 21 CFR Part 11).

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for software design and data source configuration. Responsible for Emerson DeltaV batch execution, recipe authoring (S88 standards), and equipment module logic.
• Act as the SME for software validation. Author and execute Life Cycle documentation including URS, FS, DS, and IQ/OQ/PQ protocols.
• Manage connectivity and data flow between DeltaV and external software platforms (LIMS, SAP, AspenTech IP.21) using OPC UA/DA and ODBC interfaces.
• Perform code reviews and audit trail analysis. Lead investigations into software-related deviations and implement CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Actions).
• Ensure all automated systems comply with Data Integrity (ALCOA+) and cybersecurity protocols for industrial control systems.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Instrumentation & Control.
• Minimum 6+ years in a GMP-regulated environment (Pharma/Biotech).
• Expert-level Emerson DeltaV, Siemens TIA Portal, or Allen Bradley RSLogix.
• Deep knowledge of GAMP 5 lifecycle and 21 CFR Part 11.
• Strong analytical mindset and ability to communicate complex software logic to non-technical stakeholders.
