Job Summary
The Execution Trader with a Quants background will execute trades across APAC and U.S. markets, collaborate with portfolio managers and brokers to optimize execution, monitor risk, and support investment operations and process improvements.
Responsibilities
- Execute equity, futures, and basket trades across global markets to achieve efficient transaction outcomes
- Collaborate with portfolio managers and brokers to develop and implement optimized trade execution strategies that improve trading performance
- Monitor and enforce compliance with risk limits and internal guidelines to maintain disciplined trading practices
- Analyze intraday market conditions to adjust execution strategies for enhanced trading results
- Manage share borrowing and returns to support effective short selling activities
- Coordinate execution and operational tasks to support IPOs, placements, and selected corporate actions
- Reconcile data between Order and Execution Management Systems (OEMS) and Portfolio Management Systems (PMS) to ensure data accuracy and integrity
- Prepare monthly market and investor reports to communicate trading activities and market trends to stakeholders
- Contribute to process improvements and automation initiatives to increase operational efficiency and reduce manual effort
- Provide cross-functional support to risk management, marketing, and other teams as needed to facilitate smooth operations
Required competencies and certifications
- Apply quantitative analysis skills to support data-driven trading decisions
- Utilize VBA, Python, and/or SQL to automate processes and perform data analysis
- Use advanced Excel skills to conduct detailed analysis and generate reports
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Communicate effectively in Japanese (JLPT N3 or equivalent) to facilitate collaboration with Portfolio Managers
- Apply prior equities execution trading experience in APAC and U.S. markets to enhance trade effectiveness
- Manage multiple tasks and priorities efficiently in a fast-paced trading environment
- Maintain strong attention to detail and risk awareness to uphold trading discipline
- Collaborate effectively within a team-oriented environment to support cross-functional goals
