Job Description

1) Supporting school teachers in the following:

• Prepare and set up apparatus and resources for Science practical lessons.

• Be present during practical lessons and support teacher during lab demonstration or group work. Facilitate activities in the small groups.

• Monitor resources and make appropriate recommendations for lessons. Try out resources and share with the teachers or Science Subject Representatives on the usage.

• Record items that need to be purchased during preparation so that budget can be tapped on and used effectively.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the R&D team with seasoning mixing, new product development, and how products are used.
• Support monthly work on new seasonings or new application methods and help prepare promotional items and presentations.
• Request new raw materials or flavours through the Purchasing team, and manage their registration, documentation, and evaluation.
• Perform QC checks (sensory and visual) on finished products from the seasoning line and on incoming or new raw materials.
• Review and compare current and alternative food ingredients.
• Maintain the R&D lab and keep it clean.
• Carry out plant hygiene checks.
• Support HACCP and Halal systems, including upkeep and documentation.
• Do other tasks assigned by the Company when needed.

Job Summary

Support inquiry-based science learning by managing and maintaining science laboratories and learning environments, assisting teachers with practical lesson preparation, ensuring laboratory safety, and providing administrative and logistical support in a primary school setting.

Responsibilities

• Support inquiry-based learning by preparing materials and apparatus for science practical lessons and assessments
• Manage, operate, and maintain two science laboratories and related science learning environments such as the school garden and science corners
• Source, procure, and maintain an inventory of laboratory equipment and consumables
• Ensure laboratory safety by monitoring safe use of tools and potentially serving as a certified first aider
• Assist in classes, workshops, and events by providing logistical support and supervising safe laboratory practices
• Provide administrative support as assigned by the school
• Handle live specimens, including insects and chemicals, safely and responsibly

Required competencies and certifications

• NITEC Diploma or GCE ‘O’ Level Certificate
• At least 2 years of experience as a lab technician in a primary school

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Proficiency in MS Office applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
  
  Working Hours:
• Mondays to Fridays: 7.00 am to 4.30pm, inclusive of 1hr lunch break
• Service not required on Saturdays, Sundays and gazetted public holidays
