JobOverview:

We are seeking ahighly motivated and detail-oriented professional to join the Group WholesaleBanking (GWB) – AFC & BRCM team. The successful candidate will support theteam head in strengthening risk governance and ensuring compliance withanti-financial crime regulations across Singapore and overseas locations.

KeyResponsibilities:

RiskGovernance & Compliance

• Assist in strengthening governance on all risk frameworks, policy, framework, ensuring that GWB comply with all applicable legislations, particularly in relation to anti-financial crimes.
• Assist in ensuring that potential risk issues highlighted by various Bank’s risk functions, such as Group Operational Risk, Group Compliance and Group Audit, are properly communicated and/or addressed within GWB.

RiskIdentification & Mitigation

• Assist in identifying emerging risks within GWB and the broader industry; propose and implement appropriate risk mitigation strategies.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to prioritize risk reviews based on control criticality, regulatory focus, and emerging threats.

ControlEffectiveness & Advisory

• Provide independent challenge to business units on the adequacy of existing controls.
• Review and advise on business unit policies and guidelines to ensure alignment with risk management standards.
• Support business and support units in risk identification, escalation, and remediation efforts.

StakeholderEngagement & Collaboration

• Work cross-functionally with internal stakeholders, including Group Compliance and other risk departments, to ensure coordinated and effective risk management.
• Partner with GWB Data Analytics to drive risk initiatives that enhance operational efficiency and proactive risk detection.

Monitoring &Reporting

• Monitor the effectiveness of controls through dashboards, and scorecards (e.g., AFC, risk culture, operational risk, fair dealing etc.).
• Prepare risk management reports for senior management.

ProjectManagement

• Assist in the planning and execution of projects from initiation to closure.

Oversight &Training

• Assist in providing oversight and guidance to BRCM teams in overseas locations.
• Conduct training sessions to promote risk awareness and compliance culture across the organization.

GovernanceSupport

• Secretariat support Management.

JobRequirements

Education

• Degree holder in Banking, Finance or Accounting
• Certification in anti-financial crimes, programming, data management and data analytics is preferred

Experienceand Skills

• Degree or professional qualification in business or banking/financial services related areas.
• Possesses 3 to 5 years of relevant experience, preferably in audit, regulatory compliance, or a Line 1 Risk and Control function within corporate or wholesale banking at a full-service bank. Experience in retail banking may also be considered.
• Having compliance background and good knowledge/understanding of banking and financial services laws & regulations, compliance best practices and understanding of financial products & systems would be an added advantage.
• Knowledge of local financial crime regulatory framework of South East Asia region and data analytics would be a clear advantage.
• Team player, self-driven with strong interpersonal and communication skills and able to perform well in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
• Prior experience in stakeholder management experience.
• Resourceful, meticulous, analytical and able to work independently with excellent verbal and report-writing skills.

You will be joining a well-established financial institution with a strong presence in capital markets, operating within a highly regulated environment. Your new role 

As a senior member of the Compliance team, you will play a critical role in advising capital markets businesses on regulatory and firm-wide compliance matters. You will provide guidance across equity and debt capital markets activities including underwriting, private placements and marketing of securities offerings, while overseeing information barriers and managing conflicts of interest. In this role, you will work closely with senior management, business teams, legal and external advisers to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and internal controls. You will also act as a key contact point with regulators on licencing, inspections and enquiries, support AML initiatives including transaction monitoring frameworks and review market disclosures to ensure accuracy and compliance. This is a senior hands-on position suited for a commercially aware compliance professional who is comfortable operating in a fast-paced capital markets environment.

What you'll need to succeed 

In order for you to succeed in this position, you will have:

• A Bachelor's Degree in Law, Accounting, Business, Economics, Finance or related discipline from a prominent institution

• At least 6–8 years of compliance experience in a prominent investment management firm in Singapore

• Strong knowledge of local regulatory frameworks including MAS, SFA, FAA and SGX rules

• Exposure to regulatory examinations and compliance reviews

• Strong communication, organisational and stakeholder management skills

As a Payment Control Manager - Vice President within Equities Operations team, you lead the regional high‑risk payment control function for cash equities. You validate and approve complex, high‑value payments and journal movements, strengthen the control framework, and drive straight‑through processing and automation. You collaborate with front office, treasury, operations, and technology to resolve exceptions quickly and consistently across regions. Together, we’ll simplify processes, reduce risk, and enhance client funding accuracy.

You will operate within the regional High‑Risk Can‑I‑Pay team, part of the first line of defense for markets operations. The team independently challenges processes, designs controls, and delivers change that minimizes operational, financial, and reputational risk across equities products.

Job responsibilities

• Perform independent validation and approval of high‑risk, high‑value client and firm payments, journals, and account adjustments

• Design, implement, and maintain a robust control framework with clear standards, evidence, and testing cadences

• Partner with front office, treasury, operations, and technology to assess and resolve payment exceptions in real time

• Define requirements and contribute to delivery of Can‑I‑Pay automation and straight‑through processing initiatives

• Simplify processes by removing manual steps and embedding standardized controls across regions

• Represent the function in regional risk, governance, and change forums with clear analysis and recommendations

• Establish and track key risk indicators and service metrics; investigate breaks and drive timely remediation

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or related disciplines

• At least 8 years of experience in Payments, Operations, Product Control, or Treasury roles supporting Equities or related asset classes

• Good knowledge of equities products

• Deep understanding of front-to-back trade lifecycle, settlement mechanics, and client funding processes.

• Proven ability to manage complex risk scenarios and provide rapid, well-reasoned decisions under pressure.

• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills with a control-first mindset.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with experience driving automation or control improvements.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Familiarity with areas such as prime brokerage, cleared derivatives, foreign exchange prime brokerage, equity derivatives, and/or cash equities will be a plus
