ABOUT THE ROLE

This is the first global Quality, Reliability and Assurance leadership hire.

The role requires one person who has done both:

A.  Personally built and implemented formal quality systems (including ISO frameworks) in a scaling manufacturing or technology environment

B.  Personally owned product quality and reliability outcomes in a real production and supplier ecosystem

This role is NOT suited for leaders who have primarily operated within mature, steady-state multinational environments maintaining established quality systems. It requires a hands-on 0 - 1 builder who can create structure from ambiguity, establish discipline where it does not yet fully exist, and elevate the organization's quality maturity without compromising speed, pragmatism, or stakeholder alignment. WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?

The Quality Inspector uses state-of-the-art tools and techniques to ensure that product conforms to applicable manufacturer’s specifications and our customers’ requirements. This position focuses on objective and instrumented tests that generate data for evaluation.

Core Responsibilities and Functions:

• Perform quality inspection on electronic components and related products
• Use advanced equipment and inspection methodology to confirm whether product meets customer requirements
• Record inspection results and evidence in Velocity’s ERP
• Take and prepare photo documentation
• Coordinate with the Quality Managers to ensure that all requested tests are performed
• Communicate and explain inspection findings to the Quality Managers and, occasionally, the Sales, Purchasing and Logistics.

Required skills & experience:

• Understanding of basic math, including percentages and tolerances

Work Environment

This position works in Velocity’s Inspection and Distribution Center, a hybrid laboratory/warehouse environment. Most work is performed in an Electrostatic Protected Area (EPA).

• Personnel must wear protective smocks and grounding footwear inside the EPA
• Traffic through the IDC includes electric lift trucks
• Some inspections include: X-ray equipmentHot surfacesSolvents
• Some products contain small amounts of toxic materials (e.g. lead-based solder)

This role is responsible to drive compliance and quality programs for Healthcare Transportation & Facilities and supporting the Healthcare Quality Management System to ensure processes and systems are compliant with regional and local regulations and customer requirements.

Responsibilities:

1. Quality Policies & Procedures:

Determine, implement & promote policies and procedures for Company’s Network and facilities (hubs & stations) to ensure compliance to standards such as GDP, GCP and others

Write & review SOPs and Work Instructions for transportation & fulfilment solutions pertaining to the healthcare industry

3. Compliance & Quality Program Management:

9. Healthcare Customer Liaison:

Liaise with customers to understand quality requirements / issues / underlying concerns to advise on the way forward, provide advice based on interpretations as applicable to 3PL and support in issue resolution via conducting root cause analysis (depot).

10. Healthcare Quality Feedback:

Liaise, consolidate feedback from different functions to update and prepare final copy for Quality Questionnaires, Agreements and RFQ Proposals for customers.

11. Validation Programs:

Lead and support validation of transportation lanes and critical equipment like cold chain facilities, and packaging systems

Requirements :

• Hold local pharmacist license

• Have 3-5 years of relevant experience in pharmaceutical or healthcare industry in a quality related role

• Have competencies in quality assurance / regulatory affairs, customer relationship management and root cause analysis

• Have working experience ensuring compliance in accordance to Goods Manufacturing Practise cGMP,)/, Good Clinical Practises cGCP, Goods Distribution Practice (GDP) for Medical Devices and other local certifications in a warehouse and transportation business.

• IATA CEIV will be desired but not necessary.

• Familiar with drugs control and secondary labelling system

• Experience in conducting external and internal audits

• Must hold at least Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy from a reputable local institute.

Quality System

1. Develop, implement and maintain QMS documentation to maintain compliance with applicable standards such as ISO 9001, ISO 13485 or GMP

2. Monitor regulatory changes and update the QMS accordingly

3. Conduct internal audits and support external audits (external auditing bodies, suppliers and customers)

4. Analyze quality data and metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement

5. Collaborate with cross functional teams to ensure that the quality standards are integrated into processes

Management Representative

1. Reports on QMS performance to top management and recommend improvement

2. Point of contact for certification bodies

3. Lead Management Review and follow up action items

Product Quality Management

1. Analyze and capture recurring product complaints, collaborate with Operation and Technology teams to address compound specified failures

2. Operational Quality Support. To facilitate continuous improvement initiatives, by providing on the floor support through use of quality tools and coaching teams to build ownership and proactive engagement with quality processes.

Customer Complaints Management

1. CCAR Manager. Manage the customer complaints handling process to ensure that all complaints are logged with right information for investigation till auditing process

2. Collaborate with cross functional team during the investigation, resolution and communication of customer complaints

3. Review interim CCAR reports to ensure that root cause is data driven and corrective action(s) address the root cause

Supplier Complaints Management

1. SCAR Manager. Approve SCAR – Supplier related complaints and defects, review and monitor the effectiveness of corrective actions

2. Collaborate with Procurement, Supplier and internal stakeholders to investigate issues and resolution

3. Collaborate with Procurement, Operation and Technology to assess risk and quality impact of raw material on finished goods

Global Quality Team Collaboration

1. Support the implementation of global quality initiatives, systems and tools

2. Ensure that local QMS aligns with global practices and corporate policies

3. Share best practices and lessons learned across global sites

Support Quality Contracts/Documentation

1. Review customer documents and quality related agreements for compliances to ensure clauses are relevant, assess the risks.

2. Response to customer request for certifications, compliance/quality related/audit documents

System

1. Conduct training for staff in Quality Procedure, Standards and Tools.

2. Lead processes identified by the Global Quality Team such as PPAP, QIR, CCAR, SCAR and Mastercontrol for the Asia Region

Requirements:

· Degree or equivalent experience in a field of study such as chemistry, business, accounting, engineering, etc.

· Certificate in Quality Engineering is preferred.

· 4-6 years of quality management experience. Junior with 1-2 experience in related field can also apply

· Demonstrates introductory understanding and ability and with guidance, applies competency in typical situations.

· Able to design quality systems to meet customer expectations and internal needs. New approaches and continuous improvement must be ongoing.

· Good experience into customer & supplier audit and able to conduct training

· Good interpersonal skills to be able to communicate and collaborate with all stakeholders and deal with situation proactively

· Occasionally overseas travel and weekly conference call is required for the role

· This position required to communicate closely with vendors in China.
