Role and Responsibilities

1. Engineering & Design

· Understand customer requirements provided through project kick-off documents such as customer standards, project specifications, basis of designs, sequence of operations, equipment interfacing points lists, schematic drawings and layout plans.

THE ROLE:

The Technical Lead is responsible for the test solution for a next-generation AMD Products. This position serves as the Test Engineering team's Technical Leader and go-to expert for solutions.  This position requires engagement with Product, Design, Platform Engineering, Device Analysis, Foundry, Quality and Reliability Engineering to drive test and characterization plan, 1st silicon bring-up, silicon debug, attainment and optimization of yield and performance distributions, test costs and product quality for next-generation AMD products.

THE PERSON:

Technical

Job Summary

Drive test characterization and platform enablement for PMIC, Mixed Signal, and RF IPs. Collaborate with engineering teams to debug, analyze data, and deliver detailed reports supporting product quality and performance.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute test codes for automated measurements using lab equipment to enable efficient test platform operation
• Characterize PMIC, Mixed Signal, and RF IPs by measuring Buck/LDO regulator parameters including line/load regulation, efficiency, accuracy, RDSON, load/line transient, and PSRR
• Operate and maintain bench equipment such as source meters, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, logic analyzers, power supplies, and function generators for design debug and circuit deep dives
• Perform lab characterization of Mixed Signal or RF IP and Baseband Modem Functional Blocks including ADC, DAC, and PLL to validate design functionality
• Collaborate closely with test engineering and production support teams to drive debug activities and correlate data with Automated Test Equipment (ATE) results
• Generate test limits (guard bands), provide detailed status updates at each phase, and compile comprehensive summary reports
• Analyze test data using statistical tools and software to identify trends and support decision-making

Required competencies and certifications

• Degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering
• 2 to 6 years of experience in characterizing mixed signal IP and RF components
• Solid understanding of RF and Mixed Signal test concepts and measurement techniques
• Hands-on experience with lab equipment such as spectrum analyzers, digitizers, and high-speed serial data analyzers
• Proficiency in Embedded C/C++, LabVIEW, and FPGA development
• Strong data analysis skills with experience in statistical analysis software such as JMP, CEDA, DataPower, or OptimalPlus
• Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work independently

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Knowledge of scripting languages such as Perl, Python, or VBA for automation in reporting

• Ensure all quality control documentation is compiled and completed for as-built handover through the QC turnover engineer
• Review and prepare reports on Authority inspections (RI inspection, BCA TOP inspection, etc)
• Establish Project Quality System, implement and maintain in accordance with Singapore standards application to BCA for CONQUAS Assessment and provide a framework to achieve the score
• Assess the implementation of the Quality Plan and Quality Control Plans on site
• Ensure the project QA/QC plan follows specifications and contract requirements
• Compete for site quality control instructions and action remedial responses
• Coordinate quality inspections with all the site subcontractors and vendors and coordinate all non-destructive testing on site
• Distribute relevant QA/QC documentation to site subcontractors
• Verify the quality-related site activities are in accordance with the applicable codes and standards
• Participate in the site's internal and external site audits
• Coordinate all the quality site inspections through the site QC inspectors
• Control all nonconformance reports and undertake remedial action
• Must have fluent English communication skills to liaise with the Client’s staff

• Assist PM to prepare Earth Control Measure plan
• Prepare and submit a Site Environmental Control Programme to the PM
• Assist to set up site ECM system.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Participate in the new product design evaluation process. Provide design for test feedback and or requirements to the product team during the design phase to assure testability and test coverage as part of the validation plan. Based on the design requirements, develop a test plan and test specification. Manage and communicate project timelines and action plans effectively to deliver cost-effective test solutions on schedule and within budget.
• Mental and visual ability to independently design, develop and implement software using multiple programming languages (including C++, C#, NI TestStand or PLC, etc.) for production test equipment.
• Assist in development and implementation of departmental objectives. Help implement production and test strategies to meet financial objectives. Maintain and track project financials and timelines to meet the assigned project deliverables.
• Develop and implement strategies for the procurement and installation of all test related capital equipment required for production facilities.
• Responsible for design of electrical circuitry, properly sizing components and working with vendors to develop test fixtures. Selects proper test strategies based on test coverage requirements to ensure a safe, reliable, manufacturing test solution

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:

• Bachelor's degree Electrical Engineering (EE), Electrical Engineering Technology (EET), Electrical Engineering/Computer Science (EE/CS), equivalent education, or experience.
• 5+ years’ experience as a test engineer contributor in a team oriented project environment, including design and development of test equipment for production.
• Experience developing and implementing software using languages or platforms such as C, C++, C#, NI Test Stand, etc. a plus
• Candidate must have the ability to read and interpret new product designs consisting of electronic circuit schematics and bills of materials (BOM).
• Knowledge of electronic hardware.

• Test program development for Digital, PMIC, RF & Mixed Signal products on ATE (primarily on Advantest 93k - SmarTest 7, SmarTest 8 / Teradyne UFLEX)
• Work closely with the design engineers on the first silicon debug, device characterization, test program bring up and production release activities
• Debug of digital vectors (JTAG/SCAN/ATPG / Functional / Mbist) and Device characterization across PVT (Process, Voltage and Temperature)
• Understanding and experience in characterization of Mixed Signal IP (ADC, DAC, PLL and etc.)
• Involve on test program hand off, production release, yield improvement and test time reduction
• High level of collaboration and interaction with different Product Engineering, Design Engineering, Quality Engineering, and Foundry Engineering teams.

Job Requirements

• Graduates from Diploma/ Degree in Electronics / Electrical Engineering
• Minimum 2-5 yrs relevant experience on the Test Engineering is preferred
