JOB SUMMARY
To manage and execute (SCB”s) Deposit strategy and Cost of funds management for Credit Portfolio Management (“CPM”). The role envisages driving deposit strategy & optimised liabilities mix at Group, Solo and key country designated balance sheets working closely with the Business, Treasury and Finance teams. with a view to achieve increased return on tangible equity (“RoTE”) for the Bank.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategy
• Lead enterprise-wide strategy for deposits, including deposit pricing governance, deposit mix optimisation and coordination with Business lines to support growth & profitability.
• Collaborate with Senior management, Business stakeholders, Treasury, Business & Country CFOs to manage and promote the Bank’s deposit strategy and COF management.
• Forge strong partnerships with increased focus on the importance of external pricing. Other areas of focus include rate sensitivity, price elasticity, passthroughs and margins.
• Support the business in the growth of quality deposits, Cost of Funds management and improving returns.
• Lead the development of an analytical-driven team to uncover both internal and competitor insights for improved management decision making
Business
• Partner with Businesses to ensure strategic growth in the corporate plan continues to improve on entity returns and has a resilient capital and liquidity position.
• Collaborate with businesses to drive awareness around client dynamics and behavioural patterns across different interest rate cycles and its associated impact on forecasted Balance Sheet shape
• Collaborate with Business & Treasury on matters relating to liquidity valuation of products to ensure pricing mechanisms remain effective in driving business growth.
• Drive balance sheet optimisation through insights and analysis at the ALCOs to improve returns
• Work with Treasury, Business and Finance stakeholders to increase focus on price sensitivity, rates and margins
• Improve the accuracy of price-sensitivity parameters through regular back-testing.
• Increased understanding of country-wise dynamics
• Integrating price sensitivity outputs to drive better forecasting and NIM management.
Processes
• CPM member at Asset and Liability Committees (“ALCOs”) for the designated balance sheets.
• Key representative for all local/Group FTP and balance sheet optimisation conversations with Treasury/Finance
• Drive implementation of appropriate frameworks and processes to help Businesses understand, review and challenge pricing behaviours across various interest rate cycles in key markets.
• Regularly review and refine stress testing assumptions alongside business and finance stakeholders.
• Formulate relevant thematical analyses and deep dives as and when appropriate.
People & Talent
• Drive and support CPMs people agenda - including diversity, culture, conduct, people and productivity objectives.
• Lead through example and build appropriate culture, value and expectations across the team and work in collaboration with all stakeholders.
• Maintain Individual Accountability throughout CPM by having standard and mandatory objectives aligned to the TB/WRB Scorecard and include them in employee performance reviews, of which they are measured and rewarded.
Risk Management
• Ensure compliance with the highest standards of regulatory conduct and compliance standards and practices as defined by internal and external requirements.
• Support the business strategy in alignment with changes in relevant regulations.
• This includes keeping abreast of the changing regulatory landscape, impact, business risks and opportunities.
• Work closely with stakeholders to drive relevant regulatory discussions, e.g. interest rate related regulations, and LCR and NSFR ratio improvement.
• Engage stakeholders across our matrix organisation to drive relevant regulatory and policy advisory discussions.
• Proactively manage and socialize relevant regulatory changes that affect the Businesses
Governance
• Awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework in which the Group operates, and the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the role;
• Responsible for delivering ‘effective governance’; capability to challenge fellow executives effectively; and willingness to work with any local regulators in an open and cooperative manner.
• Drive transparency on the creation of appropriate MI to monitor Balance Sheet quality and key metrics and indicators to identify returns-destroying behaviour

Our Ideal Candidate
• Bachelor’s Degree in economics (or any finance related field).
• 12+ years of experience in leading the enterprise-wide deposit strategy and cost of funds management for CPM, optimising the liabilities mix across Group, Solo and key country balance sheets.
• Work closely with Business, Treasury, Finance, Risk, and Country CFOs to shape balance sheet strategy, drive liabilities optimisation and enhance RoTE.
• Use data-driven insights to influence Business discussions, improve deposit mix, Pricing and and PTR management
• Ensure strong governance and regulatory alignment (LCR, NSFR, IRRBB, rate regulations), while fostering a collaborative, “no blame” culture and high standards of conduct.
